The Dewhurst Stakes is a Group 1 race run under Set Weight conditions for two year old colts and fillies at Newmarket conducted by the Jockey Club.
The Dewhurst Stakes is run over seven furlongs. It was first run in 1875 and was won by Kisber.
It is the middle peg of the juvenile Group 1s pattern with the Futurity Trophy to come.
Founded by breeder Thomas Gee, it was named after the Dewhurst Stud. It is noted as the producer of classic winners.
Aidan O'Brien won five of the last nine editions and seven overall. Before him Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning took out five of seven renewals.
