He couldn't have been more impressive when saluting by over six lengths at the Sunshine Coast on debut, and Golden Boom will be looking to go back-to-back there tomorrow in the Innovative Planning Solutions Three-Year-Old Handicap over 1000m.
He won his first two trials by a combined margin of eight lengths, before putting them to the sword first time at the races when starting at the prohibitive odds of $1.45.
He will jump at a comparable quote on the weekend as the three-year-old reunites with winning hoop Ryan Maloney, however he will have to contend to jump from barrier eight in a field of nine.
Part-owner and director of Archer Park Mark McLean explains that they've already had plenty of interest from overseas for the Tony Gollan-prepared conveyance.
"At this stage we've already had a significant offer from Hong Kong that Tony shared with the owners immediately," McLean told Sky Racing.
"Chris (Wessel - Managing Director of Archer Park) went to the ownership group and the vote was unanimous to keep the horse, it wasn't for sale.
"With the group of people that we've got involved, it would be hard to let go of a good horse because you wait so long for them to come along.
"What we are all about is having a great time. The mateship and friendship that comes out of racing, I think it is unlikely that the horse would be sold based on the view of the owners at present."
Golden Boom has always showed plenty of promise, despite having a significant setback early in his career.
"He had to be rushed to the Uni hospital at one point there, he had a bad bout of colic and then was rehabilitated at Archer Park," McLean said.
"Tony has brought him along slowly and given a bit of time.
"You always worry when that happens to a young horse and how they recover from it."
The son of Spirit Of Boom won't be the only Archer Park representative in the race, with stalemate Hidden Wealth also flying the flag.
The Better Than Ready gelding is another who is one from one to start the career, after posting a fast-finishing victory at Ipswich on debut.
"He's another on that's taken a little bit of time," McLean said.
"He's got really good raw ability as you would have seen at Ipswich. He's got a really good turn of foot and probably had them covered at the top of the straight.
"Whether he's up to Golden Boom's level, you'd like to think so.
"But just on raw ability of what we've seen at the moment you'd have to have Golden Boom well in front, and that's what the markets have done."
As of Friday afternoon Golden Boom was a $1.40 chance with the TAB with Hidden Wealth sitting at $11.
