The Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes was first run in 1995 and was won by Bondi.

The Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes is run over 1300m under Set Weights and Penalties conditions. It was worth $200,000 in 2023.

It used to be known as the Hyderabad Race Club Plate but changed names in 2012. It was a Listed race to 2006 then Group 3 after that. It is back at Sandown in 2022.

Silent Sedition was beaten a nose first up in 2017 and after that had a great prep beaten another nose in the Coolmore Classic and close up in the Queen Of The Turf with a win in the G1 William Reid Stakes in between.

Probabeel won the race as her lead into the 2021 Futurity Stakes. She won this race again in 2022.
