Jolly's busy start to winter

South Australian’s leading trainers Richard and Chantelle Jolly have an army of horses set to kick off winter racing at Morphettville on the Parks on Saturday.

The stable is coming off their most successful month of 2023 after producing 9 winners from 48 runners in May and will saddle up no short of eight runners this weekend.

Pudding kicks off their day as a $2.15 favourite with tab.com.au coming out of the Group 3 R A Lee Stakes at Morphettville on Goodwood Day.

"He's drawn one and it looks like he'll settle on speed,'' Richard and Chantelle Jolly said.

"I'm not sure he got through the heavy ground last time and was only beaten five lengths behind Foxy Frida and is sure to find this easier,'' he said.

Another leading chance is Rodeo resumes as a $3 favourite and Jolly said the mare, who boasts three wins from six starts on Parks, continues to raise the bar with ever campaign.

"She certainly hasn't done anything wrong,'' Jolly said.

"She's a mare who just keep improving, she's trialled OK and I am sure she'll run well,'' he said.

Jolly said he was cautious regarding the chances of Bellalique who is marked a $3.80 favourite later in the day coming off a soft maiden win.

"She won an ordinary maiden (on debut), but she won it well,'' Jolly said.

"She's taken on the older more seasoned mares and it's obviously another class rise.

"She's taken time to get to the races and I'm just a little cautious regarding the price,'' he said.
