The widely travelled Clayton Gallagher's 63 successes this season at a 22%-win rate, and 50% the place compares with the finest anywhere as he's aboard several favourites on Moree's seven-race program on a present Heavy 8.

An original Moree apprentice, Gallagher's strength and persuasive powers in a tight finish is the regional equivalent of Nash Rawiller.

And nobody rides his tricky home track with more expertise than Clayton who has an ongoing productive season with Brett Robb where he started his apprenticeship with the family.

"They've had rain, depends on how the track plays but I've got nice chances all day in their right races and ridden some of them before," Gallagher offered.

His main focus was on maiden Charge Extra ($2.90 favourite on TAB), Minimal ($3.80 fav) and last start Coffs winner King's Gold ($5 equal fav).

"Unlucky last start Charge Extra, came out slow and too much to do, had a few chances but nice enough effort for this and back in distance no issue," Gallagher said.

Charge Extra contests the Wilga Hotel Narrabri 1300m maiden. King's Gold is in the Pally Pub BM 58, 950m with 61kg off a Coffs 1000m win with 57.5kg.

"Up a lot in weight but not as much a factor in shorter races - not an overly strong race. Speed type and nice gate puts him on-pace again. Looks a three-year-old with upside."

Minimal a lightly raced Vancouver gelding contests the Tourist Hotel Narrabri BM 58 (1300m).

"Nice type, big run with the 62.5kg when I rode him last start and the big weight drop (58.5kg) and the good gate are favours. And an on-pacer with really consistent record."

At present Moree is a Heavy 8 in fine weather with a top of 31 degrees predicted.
