In a crushing blow for connections, Tulloch Lodge colt Red Resistance is out of the $5 million Golden Slipper due to an elevated temperature.

The youngster was a high-profile withdrawal on race morning after trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott advised stewards Red Resistance wasn't one hundred per cent.

"Racing NSW Stewards have approved the withdrawal of Red Resistance from the Golden Slipper on veterinary advice. The colt was found to have a high temperature this morning which will require treatment," Racing NSW stewards said in a tweet.

It follows the withdrawal on Friday of Facile who succumbed to a lameness issue, paving the way for emergency Militarize to join his Chris Waller-trained stablemates Shinzo and Lazzago in the field.

Tulloch Lodge will still be represented in the world's richest two-year-old race by Platinum Jubilee as Waterhouse eyes a record eighth Golden Slipper win.
