Chief Racing Syndicate manager, Peter Scott, confirmed a deal has been struck with Trix Of The Trade's owners, Bill and Patricia Robinson

"We are very pleased to announce that Trix Of The Trade has been locked in to represent The Chief Racing Syndicate," Scott told The Races WA.

"Trix Of The Trade is a super horse and we are proud to be partnering with Bill and Pat Robinson, who bred and own him.

"We have supreme confidence in trainer Colin Webster having Trix Of The Trade prepared to the minute for a first up tilt at The Quokka.

"It's an exciting time for WA racing and it's great to be a part of it.

"To have a horse in our slot of the calibre of Trix Of The Trade is exciting and he has an excellent chance of winning."

Trix Of The Trade gave Webster, a doyen of WA racing, his greatest triumph after more than a half century as a trainer when he won the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot last November.

A son of Trade Fair, Trix Of The Trade, has nine wins and four placings from 15 starts and $1.3 million dollars in stake earnings.

He enjoyed a spectacular three-year-old season by winning four straight races including three at Listed level: The WA Breeders (1400m), the Challenge Stakes (1500m), the Lex Piper Stakes (1600m).

The Quokka (1200m), WA racing's richest event, will be run at weight-for-age at Ascot on April 15.

Gun local filly Amelia's Jewel and eastern state sprinters Bella Nipotina and Shades Of Rose are the other confirmed Quokka starters.

Trix Of The Trade completed a Lark Hill trial on Monday.

Webster indicated he would be given another trial before entering The Quokka first up.

The four-year-old is unbeaten in three first up attempts.
