Excitement building for Hawkesbury Cup Day (Saturday)

Excitement is building for Hawkesbury Cup Raceday now that fields have been released for the 18th running of Hawkesbury’s iconic Stand-alone meeting on Saturday 22 April.

The Group 3 $200,000 Richmond Club Hawkesbury Gold Cup highlights a massive 10-race card with $1.6 million prizemoney to be distributed.

The raceday features many of Australia's top jockeys including Australia's champion jockey James Mcdonald as well as international superstar Joao Moreira.

Champion trainer Chris Waller has accepted with 19 horses and Godolphin will be represented by 11 runners on the day.

Hawkesbury Race Club's Chief Executive Officer, James Heddo said: "Saturday is without doubt one of the best renewals ever of Hawkesbury's Stand-alone raceday, as this year marks 18 years since its inception."

The Group 3 $200,000 Richmond Club Hawkesbury Gold Cup has attracted a capacity field including last year's runner-up Hopeful who will be just that of going one better in 2023.

International Group 1 placegetter Princess Grace will wear the number 1 saddle cloth in the Group 3 $200,000 Pioneer Services Hawkesbury Crown at her second Australian start following a Group 2 placing on Day 2 of The Championships.

Last start Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes winner The Fortune Teller heads the field in the Group 3 $200,000 Blacktown Workers Club Group Hawkesbury Guineas.
