Doudle's wet tracker heads to Sandown

Travis Doudle will chase a second win in a week over the border when Not Usual Glorious steps out at Sandown on Saturday.

The Morphettville trainer was successful at Ballarat on Monday with two-year-old Wiggum, and has former Kiwi Not Usual Glorious trying to build on his impressive record.

The astute purchase has won 12 of his 32 starts banking connections - who include Port Adelaide stars Ollie Wines, Darcy Byrne-Jones and Tom Clurey along with former teammates Tom Rockliff and John Butcher - more than half a million dollars in prizemoney.

Travis Doudle is hoping Thursday's rain in Adelaide makes its way to Melbourne for the horse who has won all 12 races on soft of heavy tracks.

He won the Terang Cup two starts back - beating subsequent Port Adelaide Cup winner Hasta La War - before a brave effort in the Warrnambool Cup last time out.

"We need a lot of rain,'' Doudle said.

"If it's a Heavy track, that puts him right in it.

"It's a very good race quality wise. It wouldn't be out of place as a Listed race or better, that's where his rating puts him now, so he'll need a few things to fall his way,'' he said.

Not Usual Glorious will jump from an inside gate over the 1800m with Damien Oliver booked to ride.

Murray Bridge horseman Michael Hickmott is also at Sandown with his smart galloper Taunting in the Listed Bel Esprit Stakes.

Like Not Usual Glorious, Taunting comes off a solid effort at Warrnambool during their three day carnival when he finished fifth behind former local Outlaws Revenge in the Listed Wangoom Handicap.
