Today's meetings are held at Wellington, Armidale, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Murray Bridge, Pinjarra, Hobart, Bairnsdale and Donald.

WELLINGTON: RACE 3 @ 2:05 PM

POPPY'S GIRL (10) looks very hard to beat. Three runs this time in have been rock solid without winning and she finds a very winnable maiden this time around. On the quick backup from Orange, she rates highly in this field and should go close. LOCH ANTON LADY (9) was behind Poppy's Girl there but is racing well and can push forward from the wide draw. Must have each-way claims. SUOMENLINNA (2) similarly was just behind Poppy's Girl at Orange and is knocking on the door. He's been beaten less than a length in two of his past five starts and a win must be close. SECTION TWENTY (3) ran a better race at Muswellbrook last time out and will be rock hard fit coming back from 1500m. Has the pace to push on and take a spot so should give a sight. SELECTIONS: #10 Poppy's Girl to win.

ARMIDALE: RACE 5 @ 3:45 PM

EPIC RANGER (4) led and belted the 66 graders over the mile and hasn't been disgraced in Sydney since. Comes back to 1400m off a 43-day spell with weight relief and the blinkers are on again. This is his best trip and tipping he will go well. LITTLE PROPHET (6) put in a better performance at Coffs Harbour last start and if able to run up to that form again, she shouldn't be far away. GLOBAL SENSATION (9) has a handy gate and will be better second-up.
SELECTIONS: Backing #4 Epic Ranger.

DONALD: RACE 6 @ 4:10 PM

ROMANY ROCKS (5) has been a beaten favourite at her last two starts but did have no luck after being trapped wide last time out. This field is probably the weakest field that she has faced in some time and she can be allowed one more chance to set the record straight. Follow your money. HEAVY ROTATION (8) ran on late at Edenhope fresh up and she will appreciate the extra distance on offer today. She strips fitter and should be thereabouts. INSURGENCE (3) delivered the goods as favourite fresh up at Towong and won't find this much harder. The perfect inside draw is a bonus and he is worth including in all multiples. SUDDEN IMPACTS (11) wasn't beaten far last start and will get few better chances than this to find some form again. Include.
SELECTIONS: #5 Romany Rocks to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 6 @ 4:37 PM

WHITEWATER (2) has been in need of all his three runs back this time in and was also a touch unlucky last start after getting clear late. The key today is the addition of blinkers and returning to his home track. He is having his second start at the mile this prep and is ready to put his hoof on the till. ALVIN THE BOLD (6) finished fourth at his Queensland debut and was only a length from the winner when powering home late. The step up to a mile is ideal and he is capable of finishing right over the top of his opposition. VYNER (3) just got up with a well timed ride when winning in a higher grade here last start. He is only up two and a half kilos from his last win after the claim and should be right in the finish.
SELECTIONS: #2 Whitewater to win.

CAIRNS: RACE 7 @ 4:51 PM

MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC (6) has had three runs back this prep all at Townsville and won there two back before finishing a game runner-up last time out. He is just as good on this circuit and he also has an imposing wet track record, including four wins. He is still on the up and looks to be the one to beat. STIFLING (7) is a very versatile performer and made up a lot of late ground when finishing fourth at Townsville last time out. She is ready for the step up in distance and thrives on a wet track. Chris Whiteley sticks with her and so are we. BATTLE CRY (2) will be fitter for two runs back this time in and he has won twice third up in the past. He has wet track form and another bold effort can be expected. Include in all multiples. INCHING CLOSER (1) is also racing consistently. He has earned the right to carry the top weight but is only five kilos above the minimum and if the gaps come his way late then he could add to his 12 career victories. Watch closely.
SELECTIONS: Mystery 'N' Magic to win.

PINJARRA SCARPSIDE: RACE 8 @ 5:35 PM

BOY BLUE (1) gave nothing else a chance when leading all of the way to score last start over 1300m. Has the speed to overcome a very wide draw and in a fitter state today is open to further improvement. BUCKEYE BULLET (7) ran home strongly to finish on the winner's heels last start at Ascot over 1600m when fresh-up. He should race on the speed and in a fitter state today has each-way claims. SPECIAL SORT (5) placed second fresh-up three starts back over 1800m and finds the right field here to return to form. ROYAL ARCHER (11) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a fourth over 1660m. Placed to advantage here so expect a better run this time.
SELECTIONS: #1 Boy Blue to win.
