Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 1st November 2022

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 1.

Picture: Racing Photos

Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Flemington, Randwick, Eagle Farm,  Morphettville, Ascot and Hobart.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 7 @ 3:00 PM
DEAUVILLE LEGEND (8) has a profile similar to recent Cup winners Rekindling and Cross Counter. Has gone from strength-to-strength over the UK season and his win the Great Voltiguer at York last time makes for top reading. The last five winners of the Voltiguer have gone on to win at the top level and Deauville Legend looked capable of making that six as he stormed away to win with authority. Had Cox Plate third in the same spot there giving the form a nice look here in Australia. From the locals, MONTEFILIA (4) was the eye catcher when fourth in the Caulfield Cup. Big run and her heavy track Ranvet Stakes win says rain will be of little concern to her. YOUNG WERTHER (11) could be sneaking under the radar. Placed in the Turnbull and now meets Gold Trip 3.5kg better at the weights from when they hit the line together in the Cox Plate. GOLD TRIP (1) didn't have the smoothest passage there and was terrific in the Caulfield Cup. Soft ground and two miles looks a good scenario for him.
SELECTIONS: Each-way Montefilia.

As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Flemington Computer Card.

RANDWICK: RACE 5 @ 2:20 PM
The feature race on the card, the inaugural $2 million Big Dance. Import HOSIER (5) has built up an impeccable record since landing on our shores winning seven of nine and is yet to miss a drum. Was an impressive winner over this track and trip last time out when racing on speed and gets the services of champion hoop Dettori to navigate from the carpark draw. No reason to get off him at this stage. SURF DANCER (2) got the job done at Group 2 level when resuming before suffering from second-up syndrome in the Group 3 Craven at the latest effort. Strips fitter now and can bounce back. BANDERSNATCH (1) has a handy record around this circuit with two wins and three seconds from seven spins. In the mix. RUSTIC STEEL (3) is two from two over the mile and must be considered. WICKLOW (13) best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Hosier to win.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 6 @ 3:23 PM
CIRCULARITY (7) returned from a break of five months with a solid second last start at this track over 1000m. Proven second up so will be fitter and will relish the step up to a distance where he is unbeaten in two attempts. Well drawn and hard to beat. ORIENTAL RUNNER (5) made it two wins from three runs this time in when digging deep at Ipswich last time. Can be competitive again. FIFTEEN ROUNDS (6) has been readied for his return with two trials, winning the latest. Keep safe along with STARVIRGO (1) who will be ready to go off two trials.
SELECTIONS: Circularity to maintain the unbeaten record at this distance.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 4 @ 1:40 PM
Good race with lots of these overdue to get off the mark. SOLAR BLAST (10) is bursting to win. Has placed 4/5 runs, the only time out of there money was a Gr3 at second start. Last time out knuckled down strongly when finished 1.1 lengths from the winner at Morphettville Parks. The testing material. Victorian visitor SHOURI LAD (5) has placed four of his last five. Finished among the placegetters last start when third at Ballarat Synthetic over 1400m. Expected to go close this company. TAN TAT BEAU (6) has been runner-up at all four career runs. Among the placings last time when second at Gawler and should be further improved. Winning hope. FLEURIEU FLIPPER (2) finished among the placings last time when second at this track and has placed three of last four. Among the main chances.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Solar Blast.

ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 3:48 PM
NO DICE (6) gives the indication she's looking for the 1200m now after running right through the line late when narrowly beaten at this track last start over 1000m. Drops in weight and expected to take a hand in the finish. ROCKIN' RUPERT (5) gets back in his races and will relish the solid tempo here today. Look for him late with the claim. REAL DANGER (10) has raced below expectations at her last three outings and worth another chance here. Likely to get back from the gate and be saved for one run at them.
SELECTIONS: No Dice to win.

KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 3 @ 1:25 PM
LITTLE BEGINNINGS (1) hasn't done much wrong with a win and a second from two outings to starts the career and strikes a very winnable contest here. Looks the galloper with the most upside and rates the testing material against this lot. SATNESS (2) has placed four of six around this circuit and rarely puts in a poor performance. Should prove tough to beat. The well-related THE GIFT (6) strips fitter third-up from the spell and is a genuine top-three commodity on best form. SO YOU BATTLE (5) won on debut in impressive fashion and has to be included. DELICATELY (3) best of the rest with the 3kg claim. SELECTIONS: Little Beginnings to win.

ECHUCA: RACE 3 @ 1:36 PM
ROARING MISS (14) is knocking on the door. Hard fit and should get through it. Rates best. JUKEBOX LUCY (13) is a lightly-raced improver who impressed two-back on debut. Has the speed to cross over and is worth plenty of consideration. CAMPASPE RUN (6) debuts and looked the goods winning the recent trial here. Keep very safe. FOXY TYCOON (10) wasn't far away the latest on the Ballarat heavy and can't be ruled out.
SELECTIONS: Backing Roaring Miss.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 3 @ 1:22 PM
DARK HARMONY (8) resumes from a spell and will be well supported following a recent trial win. He looks well placed to go a bold race fresh-up so leave this runner out at your own peril. VAIN FOX (5) is a four-year-old gelding who following a four month spell is having his first run for the Stuart Kendrick stable. Finished fifth in a trial here over 850m and looks well placed this line-up. Can run a bold race. ZOUMETEOR (10) is a three-year-old colt by leading Zoustar who makes his debut today, he is around $5.00 on Fixed Odds which would suggest he is expected to go a bold race. Include in combinations. SELECTIONS: Dark Harmony to win.

FANNIE BAY: RACE 2 @ 2:37 PM
ZOUMIST (5) has been racing without much luck in the Eastern States and is making her Northern Territory debut today. Her best form would be too good for this field. CIELO D'ORO (3) has really come to it since arriving in the parts from Victoria and has won twice on the track from just four starts. Hard to beat again. WRITE YOUR NAME (2) has been lighting up the Kununurra track recently when completing a hat-trick of wins there most recently. He has been given a freshen up and looks well placed at the weights. Watch closely. NOIR DE RUE (1) was thereabouts in his three starts in this area and on this track. He is making a fresh start and from his perfect inside draw he is capable of figuring in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Zoumist win bet.

MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 6 @ 4:26 PM
UNZAGA (2) is an honest gelding who returned from almost a year on the side-lines with a very close second last start over this course and distance, coming from a long way back on straightening. Will get back again from the wide alley but with that run under the belt he is ideally placed to go one better. METAL BAR (7) finally won his maiden last start at Dubbo, coming with a powerhouse finish to just arrive in time at the end of 1300m. Looking for this longer trip now and suited by the small field so watch for him late again. HALF CROWN (3) was there on the bend but his condition gave out and he missed the placings when resuming over this course and distance first up. Fitter and can give a bold sight. ZACHARIAH (5) has found the line well at both runs this prep, the latest off a 45-day let-up. Fitter and worth including.
SELECTIONS: Unzaga looks the best bet on the card.

GOLD COAST: RACE 5 @ 3:40 PM
QUATUM (3) has drawn well and with four placings from eight runs this prep including a last start second over 1100m at this track rates as the runner to beat. MYSTERIOUS ART (2) races third-up today from a spell and has won in that state previously so warrants strong consideration especially after a last start second over 1100m at this track. MR BROSE (1) is well proven on soft tracks and has recorded two wins from nine starts this prep including a last start victory at Gatton over 1100m when coming from fourth on the turn. One of the leading chances. AND OVER AGAIN (5) finished fourth last start at Toowoomba when fresh-up and has won second-up on a soft track so on that score is entitled to be respected. Include in exotic bets.
SELECTIONS: And Over Again each-way.

CANBERRA: RACE 7 @ 5:43 PM
TROOPER KNUCKLE (6) stalked the lead and was only beaten 1.4L here first-up (slow surface) when expected to need it. Fitter and draws handy again. Keeps Ward and can go one better. I'M NOT LEAVING (5) didn't have much luck as favourite at Dubbo and go on the nose defeat here first-up on the heavy as favourite. That stacks right up. PROPHET TIME (14) led and found one muck to good on the Wagga heavy. In the mix. SUMMERSET GIRL (13) will be fitter and gest the winkers first time. In the premier local barn and could be the surprise package. Keep on-side.
SELECTIONS: Leaning to Trooper Knuckle.

GERALDTON: RACE 6 @ 4:38 PM
GRACE DU ROI (7) wound up late in a small field when making her track debut last time out and did well to finish an ever closing runner-up. She is improving all the time and her next win is not far away. KAZKAZI (3) has been battling lately to find his best form this time in, but he should notice the class drop for this assignment. He is stepping back to the mile, which is of some concern, but he should be hitting the line strongly. Each-way. ARABIAN RICHES (5) ran on gamely when just beaten here at his last start should strip fitter third up. Include in all combinations. JUPITERS SUN (10) has been racing well enough at the picnic meetings and should be able to bring that form here. He has been carrying big weights at his last couple and will notice the drop of 21 kilos. He shouldn't be far away.
SELECTIONS: Grace Du Roi win bet.
