Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill and Ascot.
ROSEHILL: RACE 10 @ 5:55 PM
PIZARRO (9) is a progressive four-year-old gelding first up. He's got a strong overall record and if ready to go he looks right up to winning this. VAN GIZ (12) also drops heavily in weight third up. Hasn't won at 1200m but should peak here and has placed three times at the trip. Will be running on. CONSTANT FLIGHT (2) races well over this distance. Looks a strong each-way prospect here.
SELECTIONS: Pizarro to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Rosehill Computer Card.
ASCOT: RACE 4 @ 2:26 PM
ACROMANTULA (1) was way too fast here two back then up to Listed company and wasn't able to lead so fought on well to hold third. With the inside gate and the claim he will take running down. BITOFMERIT (4) won well at this trip first-up then had his chance up to 1200m and fought on. Unbeaten at the 1000m so is dangerous. BEADS (2) chased Acromantula home last time out when favourite but is a little better off at the weights. Keep in mind. MOI CHOUX (3) and CAPITAL FLIGHT (5) have genuine cases too.
SELECTIONS: Acromantula to win. Trifecta 1-2,3,4,5/2,3,4,5.
GOLD COAST: RACE 7 @ 3:52 PM
RESONATOR (10) showed good improvement second up in Sydney, leading and fighting well to go under by a neck over this distance at Randwick. He will be hitting peak fitness now and McDonald is booked. Ready to win. ARENTEE (1) is in fine form with two wins and a nose defeat in three runs this time in. Last time out ran on to score by a head as favourite over 1200m at Doomben and should enjoy the extra 100m. SPIRITUALISED (7) was eased out of the Gold Edition Plate last time out but there was good merit in his resuming placing two back and he won his only previous third up attempt. WEST OF AFRICA (13) has placed in both runs since a fresh win and comes back to a distance where he won his only try. DAYTONA (12) is going well and is the mix.
SELECTIONS: Resonator to peak and win third up.
WERRIBEE: RACE 2 @ 1:26 PM
SCHILLER EFFECT (7) lifted strongly only to fail narrowly when first up last start at Terang over 1200m. Should tighten right up following that outing and hasn't run a bad race yet. Hard to beat. SAVVY BEE (12) settled well back from a good draw last time before running on solidly to finish fourth, beaten 0.7 lengths, over 1200m at Colac. The rise in trip suits and she can win. SHIKISHI (13) was right behind Savvy Bee at Colac and will give herself every chance by racing on the speed. EMPRESS OF SYDNEY (9) is a filly by Holy Roman Emperor out of Fictional Account on debut who should measure up.
SELECTIONS: Schiller Effect on top.
QUEANBEYAN: RACE 2 @ 2:09 PM
TIZ WAR BRO (5) is a six-year-old gelding who races well over this distance. Saluted last time out by 1.4 lengths over 900m at this track. Olivia Chambers retains the ride and is well placed to take this out. EXAGGERATE (1) is close to breaking through, last time out recording another minor placing when second over 1000m at Gundagai. Should be in the mix again. LITTLE RIVER ROSE (2) is resuming from a spell and is a winner previously at this track and distance.
SELECTIONS: Tiz War Bro to win.
GAWLER: RACE 7 @ 4:02 PM
DANISH FORTUNE (5) caught the eye fresh when rattling home to miss by a head. Second-up winner who will appreciate the anticipated genuine tempo. SECRET WAR (3) has been thereabouts in two resuming efforts but has just struggled to finish it off over the concluding stages. Fitter now and returns to his home track where he boasts an impressive record. One of the main dangers. LOPE DE WOLF (4) has worked himself into a purple patch of form, scoring in his last two. Finds this tougher but form is too hard to ignore. THE LADIES MAN (11) could be worth some thought each-way at juicy odds.
SELECTIONS: Danish Fortune to win.
GERALDTON: RACE 6 @ 4:37 PM
CORN COB (1) never got a fair crack at them until late when finishing fourth at Ascot last start that effort followed a big run for third at the same track. He returns to his home course where all of his ten career wins have come and up to the 1400 metres he should add to that impressive tally, big weight and all. MINUS LOOKS (4) is a tough veteran performer that is racing as well as ever with two wins and two placings in his last four starts. He will push forward early and should be in the race for a long way. Include in all combinations. SANS LE SOU (5) is as honest as they come and does save her best for this track. She was unlucky not to have finished closer last start and will get a good run throughout from her handy draw. Watch closely. STARTTHEFRIAR (3) looks value at odds.
SELECTIONS: Corn Cob to win.
