Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Gosford, Cranbourne, Geelong, Townsvill and Launceston.

GOSFORD: RACE 5 @ 5:35 PM

CHIPPER (6) led at Wyong and bolted in by 5.2L in dominant fashion. He now goes from a maiden to a BM64, but is drawn ideally and should find the front again. Has plenty of upside and looks mighty hard to beat. I'LL TELL YOU NOW (1) sat off them before rounding up his rivals late 44 days ago at this course over 1100m. Freshened since then and now back in trip where he boasts a good record. Can bring up the hat-trick. KING CHARMING (3) has trialled nicely leading into today's fresh effort, and he does go well first-up. Should land just off the speed for Jay Ford and is expected to go very close. RUMPSHAKER (4) resumes from a long break and will be fitter for a recent trial. Not to be discounted back to provincial level. GEEWIZ JOHNNY (7) has gone close his past couple and is sure to be in the finish again.
SELECTIONS: Chipper looks very hard to beat.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 1 @ 6:15 PM

CHOQUANT (2) is third up today and looks set to peak after running a fighting second over 1500m at Sandown-Lakeside as favourite on December 21. Brown sticks and will get all the favours from the inside draw. Go close. COUNTRY'S LIGHT (3) will strip much fitter after first up effort when came from well back to run sixth over 1430m at Geelong on December 26. Has placed second up and expected to be closer in the run. NAVAL DESTROYER (9) has needed the three runs to bring him to his peak and gets every chance today. Sat on the speed from the wide gate when 2nd over 1600m at this track on December 23. Looks a serious player here. BRUNGLE CREEK (1) had to burn the candle at both ends when a tough long neck 2nd over 1500m at Mornington on January 1. Finally draws a gate today and will take plenty of catching.
SELECTIONS: Box Quinella 2,3,9,1.

GEELONG: RACE 4 @ 5:00 PM

PERMUTATION (6) went over to Adelaide ready to win off a heavily-bet placing at Horsham but disappointed as favourite. Drops back to a set weights Maiden from the 64 and the middle distance looks ideal. Clearly the one to beat. YANKEE ZULU (9) will be better for his two race-starts and looks in need of this distance. GENTACHEEVA (3) is also lightly-raced. Was plain the latest but the efforts at Geelong would see him competitive in this line-up. SCRAMBLER (7) has had plenty of chances but gets the blinkers on again and shouldn't be far away.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Permutation.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 7 @ 4:04 PM

PICTON (1) is racing well through his grades and chasing his third straight win today after scoring over today's course and distance as favourite on December 27. Will get all the favours again from the soft gate. Go close. FEMALE OFFICER (5) has been thereabouts of late and scored a well-deserved victory over this journey at Cairns after stalking the lead on January 2. Should handle the class rise here. Can take a hand in the finish. PLUCKERCARN (3) will find this easier and back in trip here after finishing a close second over 1609m at this track on December 27. Looks well placed this track and trip. ANNIEMARIAH (4) is near her peak now and drops in class but up in trip today. Look for her late from the draw.
SELECTIONS: Picton to win.

LAUNCESTON: RACE 2 @ 6:25 PM

EGAO (7) did not have her mind on the job at her last outing after acting up before the start. Her form prior was very good and from the ace draw she is expected to bounce back quickly. ALOTRHONN (5) made up plenty of ground on debut and should improve further with that experience. Each-way. MISS PRIVATE (11) is resuming from a bleeding attack and has since been transferred to Tasmania. She strikes a weak field for her local debut and should be thereabouts. STARCADIA (13) has been in the market at her recent starts but hasn't managed to break through, last start running fourth at Longford when fresh. Include in all multiples.
SELECTIONS: Egao to win.
