GOLD COAST: RACE 1 @ 1:20 PM

ALPINE EDGE (3) closed well when resuming then lifted his rating when runner-up in the rich King Of The Mountain last start. That will have brought him to peak fitness and McDonald goes on. Gets the favours from the rails draw so looks ready to strike. INDISCREETLY (6) was racing well before the spell and a recent trial win suggests she is back in good order. Owns a 50 percent strike rate here and hasn't missed a place at this distance. EF TROOP (1) made a strong return when placed and looks likely to progress off that. WISDOM OF WATER (2) will relish the return to a course where he owns an impressive strike rate while SAFEWORK (10) can improve second up.
SELECTIONS: Alpine Edge looks ready to win third up.

PAKENHAM: RACE 6 @ 8:15 PM

DISTORTED MISSION (2) chased hard to go down narrowly when resuming at Cranbourne. Is going to strip fitter this time and the rise in trip is a plus. Won't be far away. MUSGRAVE (6) was well supported before first-up run at Terang where he stuck on solidly. Strips fitter here and won't be too far from the money. MEDINAH (5) showed improvement at second outing when racing on the speed and filling a place at Warrnambool. Will be further improved and has to be respected. NORTHERN BARRAGE (7) came in for support before hitting the line strongly on debut. Will be improved by the run and looks one of the threats here.
SELECTIONS: Back Distorted Mission to win.

PINJARRA SCARPSIDE: RACE 6 @ 4:30 PM

MEGAMI (8) is back in distance after finishing a game third at Belmont last start. She will be having three starts within a month but looks as though she will cope. Clint Johnston-Porter in the irons is a bonus and another big effort is expected. RUNFORROB (3) led all the way when winning on debut and then followed that effort up with a sound third on this track last time out. The extra furlong will suit him and he is expected to be in the finish. THE DOMINICAN (4) looked forward when placing at a recent trial. He will improve on whatever he does today but is definitely capable of taking this out. Include. WITHOUT REG (6) racing well without much luck lately and has the draw to feature prominently. Each-way. DREAM EVIL (9) broke through for a confidence boosting win at Geraldton last start. She drops in weight for this slightly tougher assignment and is worth including in all combinations.
SELECTIONS: Megami to win.

TAMWORTH: RACE 6 @ 4:35 PM

SEGUSO (6) returns for the in-form Cody Morgan team and was unlucky not to score fresh last time in when beaten a lip at Warren. Goes well first-up and looks to carry plenty of upside. The one to beat. VERY SHARP (7) has been thereabouts of late but has just struggled to land the killer blow. Gets in well at the weights with he 3kg claimer aboard and should be winding up late. Watch for a big finish. FANAAR (1) closed of gamely in to the placing fresh in his first run for Mark Hatch. Drawn to get the gun run this time and gets the services of leading rider Aaron Bullock. Can make a strong account of himself. RED BERYL (9) best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Seguso hard to beat.

WANGARATTA: RACE 9 @ 4:30 PM

CUFFE'S GRANGE (3) is racing well without winning. Started favourite the last two including here and draws to lead or box seat. Suited in this line-up with the small claim. IRISH BUTTERFLY (1) is on the improve and finds easier than Flemington. He has more to give and up to the middle-distance suits. ZOOMURUDI (7) is better than the recent form line suggests. He was a big winner this trip before the spell (synthetic) and will be better for the latest. Races handy and consider. OCEANS OF STANIMA (2) lifts from the mile seeking the hat-trick. Keeps improving and the 3kg claim brings him into it.
SELECTIONS: Backing Cuffe's Grange to win.

ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 4 @ 2:07 PM

EXECUTIVE STRESS (1) ran his best race winning comfortably here this grade and peaks for this. Keeps Wiggins and looks well-placed to go on with it. TEQUILA DANCER (2) has been racing in Brisbane in much stronger. Has the handy 3kg claim and should manage the shorter sprint off a 40 day freshen. FLAMING HOMER (3) resumed in good order at Mackay. This is harder but he has more up the sleeve and can get into the finish. SWEET JINA (5) uses the rails gate and has been knocking on the door. In the mix as well.
