RANDWICK: RACE 9 @ 5:20 PM

STAR SPARKS (7) had the perfect pipe opener first up over 1500m at Rosehill, sticking on gamely for a narrow fourth. Strips fitter for that and is unbeaten second up. Should lead and prove very tough to catch. BULLFINCH (1) will find this easier than recent racing and looks well placed. Found the line well last start and McDonald hops aboard. BOLD MAC (5) ran well first up behind Vrenelli which reads well. Will be fitter and can get into a good spot. MACH SCHNELL (4) was a handy winner over 1800m two back before an even effort last start. Racing well and is in the mix again.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 6 @ 3:40 PM

ICE PICK NICK (2) has looked a touch ring rusty in two runs this time around. Don't think he loved the testing ground first up and then went six weeks between runs into latest and just got caught out when the pressure went on. Stuck at it well enough and now three weeks on from that he can turn up as a sharper model. Stablemate LORD PARAMOUNT (3) has always had ability and he might be able to string some wins together after knocking one off last time. That was overdue. HARBIN (1) put up two strong wins before a game effort last time. This is the right race for him. ANILLA (4) is winning and respected for all that this is much tougher and THE HASS (8) can be considered second up off a nice win at Cranbourne.

DOOMBEN: RACE 5 @ 2:32 PM

KING KAPA (3) is two from two since joining Tony Gollan for this campaign, last time fighting well to score by 0.6 lengths over 1000m at Eagle Farm. Tested over another 200m but is drawn to enjoy a nice run just off the speed. Big chance again. DELYTH (12) resumes after putting together a string of wins and placings last campaign, scoring easily the last time he raced here. Has impressive statistics at the distance with three wins and two placings from five attempts. Readied with two trials. Leading hope. PREACH (11) continues to race well with a win two back at Gold Coast before a second last time. Can be in this for a long way. PUTONTHEREDLIGHT (16) is close to a win having placed in both runs since a spell.

ASCOT: RACE 3 @ 1:44 PM

DESERT VIXEN (4) had a nice run and proved far too strong when resuming at Belmont and maps to get the perfect run once again. Trip holds no fears and the one to beat. BORN TO TALK (3) has been hovering around a win and while he has had his chance he gets another one here rolling forward. CABLE BOY (7) is an interesting runner who romped home at Albany second-up. Barrier a worry but with any luck could get into the finish. FLICKA'S CHANCE (1) and ON THE FULL (6) have solid claims.
