MOE: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM

RED STILETTO (3) was an impressive 3.5 len winner last time over 1600m at this track when leading throughout on January 15. Back in grade here and on the quick back up. In well with the claim again and plenty to like. FRENZY LUNE (6) is fitter now after two runs back and steps up in trip here. Was doing her best work late when a solid third at Mornington over 1200m on January 1. No shock to see her win this from the gate and with the claim. RIPPLEBROOK (2) has disappointed at his last two runs but go on his strong fifth at Moonee Valley three back over 1600m when assessing his chances. Can add value to the exotics. LOVANO (7) improved sharply when back in trip to run a close up second over 1350m at Burrumbeet on January 1. Well in with the claim and can take a hand in the finish.

BUCKS (1) is a consistent staying type with good figures this track and trip. Has finished in the minor placings at his last two starts including latest second over 2040m at Mornington on January 8. Back in class here and a repeat of that will make him the one to beat. MR BLACKWOOD (2) is undefeated this track and has second up form after returning with a plodding fifth over 1600m at Cranbourne on December 29. Big improvement expected. THE BOUNTY (12) has made improvement at his last two outings including latest second over 2008m at Woolamai on January 14. This tougher but drop in weight helps. Place claims best. ALBANIAN EAGLE (11) should give this a shake.

BATHURST: RACE 7 @ 4:50 PM

DE FORERUNNER (1) runs along and was narrowly beaten at Randwick in a 64 before being nudged out at Orange in a CL2 bet a 8-15 favourite. Gets more weight but finds easier grade and is the one to beat. CROATIAN MADAME (11) can surprise sitting down in the weights. Resumed as an equal favourite but didn't have the best of it. She will be sharper today and can finish hard. SISTRUM (2) raced handy but couldn't finish it off at Orange. Won the Maiden first-up and fitter is in the mix drawn well with a small claim. BOOROWA GIRL (7) is an improver with a handy 2kg claim but will settle back from the wide barrier.
SELECTIONS: De Forerunner to win on a day where the shorties are hard to go past.

EMERALD: RACE 3 @ 2:55 PM

VICI (7) was not beaten far last start even though he finished last. He will be peaking third up, having won twice previously in this condition, and with the blinkers back on he is ready to put his hoof in the till. ECHO POINT (1) won a nice race at Doomben two starts back and is racing so well at the moment. The sharp drop in distance is of some concern but after nearly a month away from the race track he will be ready to run a big race. Watch for him late. COURTESY BUS (6) won the latest of two trials impressively and as a winner fresh up in the past he is on to consider for all combinations. AGE OF INNOCENCE (3) led all the way last start and is versatile enough to handle any distance. She has never missed a cheque in eight starts on a wet track, including five wins, and merits healthy respect.
