Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Pakenham, Warrnambool, Gosford, Doomben and Geraldton.

PAKENHAM: RACE 7 @ 8:45 PM

RHINOCEROS (5) gets his chance here. He's placed at his past three starts, all of which have been against stronger opposition. He's been freshened since consecutive placings at Moonee Valley so the drop to 1400m should be fine and his best figures have him going close. SUNFALL (6) is the danger. He wasn't beaten far at Sandown-Lakeside last start and his run prior was very good. He has form in stronger races. WARM SMILE (12) is the query. Last seen winning dominantly over 2012m at Newmarket in the UK, she may find this a bit sharp but clearly has the talent. INVINCIBLE BAY (1) will be rock-hard fit now following a nice effort at Geelong last start when third.
SELECTIONS: Rhinoceros to win.

WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 4 @ 2:40 PM

PERMUTATION (4) peaks and has been threatening a win. He has been heavily bet his last three including this trip at Geelong the latest. The blinkers come off and Yendall's booking is a lead. COSMIC EVENT (7) comes out of the same race finishing just ahead of the above. Linda goes on and will position her handy. Fitter and the danger. A gap then to DEVILEARS (2) who was better in the same race. Fourth up now and can get into the money. JUGAN (8) is third-up and can improve again. Needs to find more but he has upside unlike some of the competition.
SELECTIONS: Backing Permutation.

GOSFORD: RACE 2 @ 2:30 PM

Interesting race this with a lot of the runners coming through the same last start contest. CHOUILLY (7) had no luck at all fresh and was never given much of a chance. Capable of much better and only needs even luck to be getting involved. STATE OF AMERICA (4) was the one that caught the eye at big odds when flashing home to snatch a placing. Drawn to settle closer to the action this time and should appreciate the extra 200m. Gets a weight swing over Burn By Bernie who he beat home last start. Hard to knock. BURNT BY BERNIE (1) stuck on gamely to line fresh for a midfield finish when hard in the market. Strips fitter and could be worth another go. PIERRO WARRIOR (2) also has some claims and will be better for his debut effort.
SELECTIONS: Chouilly goes on top.

DOOMBEN: RACE 6 @ 3:33 PM

TIDAL CREEK (3) has been good in three Sydney runs since a spell, putting the writing on the wall when beaten a nose into second at Warwick Farm over 1600m last time. Should be at his peak now. Ready to win. FIRSTLUV (11) was a narrow maiden winner by a neck at Eagle Farm two back then ran on for second at this track last time. Progressive and is looking for the extra 300m. TOP BOY (8) does his best work at this distance range including back-to-back placings. Respect. HE IS (6) will be rock-hard fit now following a nice effort at Ipswich last start when second.
SELECTIONS: Tidal Creek to win off strong Sydney form.

GERALDTON: RACE 7 @ 5:00 PM

STELLA FAIR (9) peaks for the Durrant barn off two near-misses at Ascot. They read extra well for this and she has some weight relief. Clearly the one to beat. EDMOND (3) delivered twice here and then was beaten 1.6L at Ascot in stronger. Keeps improving and can form the quinella. ELIMINATE (6) continues to race well and has a 5kg weight drop. That brings her into it. BOMBAY STYLE (1) missed a whisker here this grade improving and keeps the handy 2kg claim. He's in the mix along with PASSPORT (8).
SELECTIONS: Backing Stella Fair to win.
