RANDWICK: RACE 3 @ 1:30 PM

SHINZO (8) comes through the best form race behind Red Resistance and King's Gambit, beaten 1.8 lengths into third there. He was on debut there so expect natural improvement and he draws to effect. CORNICHE (3) looks the early value. All three runs in Melbourne have been good, placing behind key Blue Diamond contenders at his past two. Interesting move to come back to Sydney but he should run well. BASES LOADED (5) was a narrow but strong winner on debut at Randwick Kensington. No shock to see him measure up. DISNECK (2) has shown talent and should run well fresh, while RUSH HOUR (1) won the Magic Millions debut last start and creates interest.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Corniche each-way.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 2 @ 1:10 PM

SHUFFLE DANCER (3) shaped best of all in a race that has produced no less than five subsequent winners on New Year's Day at Flemington. She was one of those five, getting into a tricky spot at The Valley but putting the race to bed quickly when the chance presented itself, and she can be better suited back on a bigger circuit this time. Also better suited this time is LACED UP HEELS (2) who did enough over 1100m in her debut on this side of the country. Her best form came at 1400m when beating the smart Amelia's Jewel and that has to be great form for this. CALL DI (8) is bred to be a megastar and her fresh win was plenty promising. She has a hope along with SHE'S LICKETYSPLIT (1) who won a pair of Group races in the Spring and will be better for a sound return.
SELECTIONS: Shuffle Dancer is right up to this level.

DOOMBEN: RACE 5 @ 2:28 PM

SANTERO (9) put the writing on the wall when closing strongly to place last start at Eagle Farm. Races well at this longer journey and the last effort suggested she is looking for it. Can peak and win. REGAL POM (6) brings good form from Sydney where he was rewarded for his consistency with a last-start win at Canterbury. Races very well at this distance with two wins and two placings from four attempts and is drawn to get the favours. ROGUE ROCKER (4) has been racing well without winning, placing in all three runs since a spell. Ran on last start for third, beaten 1.3 lengths over 1600m at this track. The hoof is on the till. SAGACIOUS (1) placed last time and is drawn to give a sight again while last-start winner CLYDE (7) is an each-way player.
SELECTIONS: Santero to strike up in trip.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 2 @ 12:52 PM

PHILONIZE (6) returns after enjoying a short but successful campaign. Has a stack of early speed and will waste no time working to the front to dictate proceedings. Expect this mare to go onto bigger and better things this campaign. ZORRO'S DREAM (4) is an extremely consistent gelding that rarely finishes far away from the action. Has chased gamely to the line in his first two starts this time in. Steps out to a winning trip and is 1/1 at this venue. Could cause the fav a scare in the run home. KIKI EXPRESS (7) resumes and will be hoping to pick up where she left off last campaign when scoring with a bit up her sleeve here. Already has a Listed win to her name and goes well fresh. Worth considering. Can also make a case for ANOTHER AWARD (3) on top ratings.
SELECTIONS: Philonize will prove tough to reel in.

ASCOT: RACE 5 @ 3:05 PM

CASINO SEVENTEEN (1) is hard to go away from after two very easy wins on end including this trip two weeks ago. Only up marginally in weight after the claim and should take stopping. LET'SDEAL (8) was far too strong as he broke through third-up with an easy Albany win. Ready for this task and has his chance from the inside. BLAZING AWAY (5) ran on well to place behind Casino Seventeen last start and a repeat of that sort of effort has him among the hopes again. BOLD SUCCESS (4) and PICCOLA SIGNORA (9) are each-way chances.
SELECTIONS: Casino Seventeen to win. Trifecta 1-4,5,8,9/4,5,8,9.
