ELDERSLIE (4) failed to pay the punters last start when narrowly beaten as favourite at Wodonga. Has changed stables in between runs, joining the Mitch Beer team. Showed good signs last start and now gets the blinkers applied to help sharpen her up. Could prove the winning touch. ALEMBEE (1) has been thereabouts in all three runs this prep, beaten a long neck last time at Wodonga. Drawn to get a nice run from the inside. Will be threatening. WAGUNDA (2) showed some promising signs in his last run of his debut prep when falling just shy of the placings at Moruya. Fitter for a trial placing here in readiness. Can make his presence felt. INSPIRED DREAM (7) in the mix.

YORK: RACE 8 @ 5:38 PM
THE ANVIL (1) won the last time he visited this track and took his record here to three wins from four starts, including a placing. He has been close up in stronger fields since then and with the drop back in class here he can return to the winners' circle at some value. KING'S WENCH (6) did not get into the race until it was too late last start and gets a much better draw today. If the breaks come her way then she is more than capable of finishing into the placings. SO SWAY (4) made a solid return at Mt Barker fresh up when finishing third and has been given plenty of time to get over that effort. He has drawn wide today but in a wide open field, he should be thereabouts. Include. ANNA'S BOY (3) is resuming at a distance short of his best but he would have matured over his spell and if close enough turning in he could have the last say. Watch for him late.
