Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Randwick Kensington, Sandown Hillside, Doomben, Belmont Park and Strathalbyn.

RANDWICK KENSINGTON: RACE 4 @ 3:30 PM

Handy race, but keen on HEADWALL (1). He made amends for a first up defeat with a dominant win at Warwick Farm last start. He's got plenty of talent and so long as he steps cleanly he should be close enough in the run to win again. AIRMAN (3) resumes. He's won two from three including both fresh tries. Drawn the inside with the claim, expect he sits behind the leader and runs very well. CROSSWINDS (2) was well beaten first up in the Inglis Sprint at Flemington but this is much easier and he has form around the right horses last time in. SHADOW VAMPIRE (4) was in great form last time in and will be charging late.
SELECTIONS: Headwall to win.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 1 @ 2:30 PM

SIMEON (4) made a positive impression on debut at Pakenham, sticking on gamely into the placings behind what looks a smart one. Was an expensive purchase for Busuttin & Young team so plenty of improvement is anticipated and the extra 300m should suit. Leading player. STAVANGER (6) did a good job to hold onto a minor placing fresh at Pakenham when resuming off a long lay off. Open to further improvement second-up and stripping fitter. UMETINI (9) was sound when making her debut at Warnambool but couldn't live up to market expectation. From the smart Maher & Eustace partnership, so could be worth another chance. VILLENEUVE (3) best of the rest. Booking of veteran hoop Damien Oliver a push for his chances.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Simeon to score.

DOOMBEN: RACE 4 @ 2:48 PM

SEA RIPPLE (10) had been racing consistently before landing a deserved success by 0.7 lengths at this track last time out, her first visit to the course. Should be able to find the right spot from a lower draw. Big chance to go back to back. HAVLICEK (5) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1300m at Warwick Farm but will find this easier. Finished last campaign with a Canterbury win so will be fitter and enjoy the rise in trip. Major player. DREAM SONG (7) and VIVENZO (6) both come into this as last-start winners and are contenders again. SELECTIONS: Sea Ripple to go back to back.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 5 @ 4:10 PM

CENTRAL FORCE (8) showed plenty his initial preparation and resumes owning a 1200m trial win at this circuit. The top hoop (Pike) sticks from that and he can manage the awkward barrier. Progressive and will take beating. BIGDAYONIT (4) resumes in easier grade and has won fresh. He will skip across and ride the speed and the small claim helps. CRUISE TO VICTORY (6) was narrowly beaten in a CL1 at Ascot finding more like his best. Peaks now and is also in the mix.
SELECTIONS: With Central Force.

STRATHALBYN: RACE 9 @ 5:10 PM

JIVE BABY (9) has been close up here both starts this preparation and should be ready to fire. Drops back a level and has plenty in the tank. MISSION SUPREME (1) will strip fitter and go on the Maiden win here first-up. Has the blinkers on again and Victorian form that would see him go close. GENERAL MINT (3) will skip over and ride the speed. Has been racing short of his peaks and would have to find those to be winning. SAND CAT (6) always puts in. Is going well in easier and can make the first-four.
SELECTIONS: Backing Jive Baby.
