Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Wyong, Pakenham, Seymour, Mackay and Narrogin.

WYONG: RACE 8 @ 4:50 PM

Intriguing race to close the day's proceedings with a handful of promising types set to resume. LAROUPE (6) is one of those and could be ready to really go on with it this time in. Drawn favourably and gets in well at the weights with the 3kg claimer engaged. Should prove very tough to stop. TOCOMAH (1) also resumes. Savaged the line late in his sole lead-up trial and returns over a winning trip with senior hoop Kerrin McEvoy booked. Expect to see him climbing over their backs in the run home. FIRE AND ICE (3) returns a gelding for Mark Minervini. Has shown promising signs in his early career and the ultimate gear change could really bring him along. Have to keep safe. BAYEZID (9) was solid fresh and is worth some thought as well.
SELECTIONS: Backing Laroupe to win.

PAKENHAM: RACE 8 @ 8:15 PM

GENERAL FIREPOWER (3) looks placed to advantage tonight after scoring a 4 len victory two back at Sale. Ran a courageous fourth over 1400m at Sandown-Lakeside in BM70 class on April 8. Goes well here and claim helps. The one to beat. MANHATTAN THUNDER (4) is fitter now after getting well out of his ground from the draw when eighth over 1200m in the Vobis Gold Dash at Sandown-Lakeside on April 15. This much easier and big improvement anticipated from the gate. SET THE SAILS (6) is hard fit for this and won this track and distance. Motored late from well back when fourth over 1300m at Cranbourne on April 14. No excuses from the barrier. ALMIGHTY WILL (2) returned in good order with a fast finishing third over 1300m at Cranbourne on April 14. Has good second up stats and stays in the mix. SELECTIONS: General Firepower to win.

SEYMOUR: RACE 7 @ 4:30 PM

YOWIE (12) switched to the premier barn and raced favourite on resumption when narrowly beaten. She's performed at Listed level and will keep improving. The 2kg claim brings her right into it. ENTREPRENEURIAL (7) resumes and brings a Cranbourne trial placing. He has the blinkers on and drops back in grade. Lightly raced and has a future. MATAO MA (9) led and won the Maiden first-up with a bit in reserve. She showed plenty early doors for the former barn and is back on track. Has the 3kg claim and looks capable of taking the next step. IN DUE TIME (1) missed a whisker here 13-days ago and can't be ruled out.
SELECTIONS: Backing Yowie.

MACKAY: RACE 4 @ 2:40 PM

BAYERISCHE (1) has improved with racing this time in and he peaked last start when he scored over 1600m at Rockhampton with today's rider Jackson Murphy aboard. Should land in the right spot from this draw. Top chance. Hard to knock the form of IN BEL'S SHADOW (9) who has put together a couple of wins at this track over 1560m. Winning rider Adam Sewell retains the mount. Could add to the picket fence. FRESH PRINCE (4) faded to miss a place last start but had kicked off the campaign with a Rockhampton win and a third on the Gold Coast poly so is capable of better. MONEY MUNCHER (6) could peak third up.
SELECTIONS: Bayerische to back up the last-start win.

NARROGIN: RACE 8 @ 5:00 PM

NORICH (1) finished a game third at Belmont three starts back and in two runs since then has not been too far away in stronger fields. He won his only start on this track and after the 3kg claim from in form apprentice Zephen Johnston-Porter he is well poised to make a return to the winners' circle. Very hard to beat. IZZY MAY (2) likes racing here and was back in winning form last start when coming with a well-timed run to get up late and score going away. She is up another kilo and a half in weight but should still be the main threat to the top selection. RHAPSODY STAR (9) has gone back to back this prep for her new trainer and should have no problem coping with this next grade. She is drawn perfectly near the fence and if there is any rain around then her winning chances soar. Watch closely. RISING COMMODITY (8) enjoyed escaping City class fields and immediately hit winning form as favourite at York last time out. She is again well placed and can repeat the dose. Include. SELECTIONS: Norich to win.
