Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Port Macquarie, Cranbourne, Geelong, Townsville, Canberra and Port Augusta.

PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 2 @ 12:50 PM

VARDON (1) will find this easier than last start at Kembla Grange, well beaten on that occasion but starting $3 in the market. His form prior in better maidens than this was excellent and he looks awfully hard to beat if he runs near his best. I SAY BOOM (3) was too bad to be true at Ipswich last start and has been freshened since. His form earlier in the campaign was very good for this level and he may be able to recapture it while fresh. ENTERPRISE FUSE (8) ran a better race second up at Ballina and looks set to peak third up with the rise in trip. She can push forward from the wide gate and run well. BELLA LUMINOSA (7) may appreciate the extra distance following two average runs to start her career.
SELECTIONS: Vardon to win.

PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 6 @ 3:10 PM

BETTER JUDGEMENT (5) looks the one to beat. She was a smart maiden winner when fresh at Taree last time in and was only narrowly beaten as a short priced favourite here before a spell. She's in good hands and has plenty of upside so expect she goes close. WHERE'S THE FIRE (2) was an easy maiden victor first up at Grafton when well in commission and can go on with the job. He too has upside and looks the logical danger. OCTOBER REVOLUTION (3) won two in a row in easier races prior to last start, finishing eighth but not beaten that far here over 1100m. He's in the mix. TOOMUCHINFORMATION (4) scored two back at Beaudesert but was well beaten there last start. A chance on his best.
SELECTIONS: Better Judgement to win.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 8 @ 9:15 PM

DAIQUIRI (5) made his stable debut a memorable one for team Busuttin & Young, making light work of his rivals at Ballarat. The horse that came second has come out and been a handy winner. Sure to have come on from the hit-out and should take plenty of beating. LET FLY (8) has been in great order this campaign, putting three wins on the board. Scored nicely here last start and only needs to hold her form to be very competitive. DANTE'S PEAK (11) is also worth good thought off the back of his last start placing here. Can also make a case for ELUDING (6).
SELECTIONS: Backing Daiquiri to win.

GEELONG: RACE 5 @ 2:45 PM

ZEMINNIKA (10) switched from a top Sydney barn and immediately found her best narrowly beaten at Sale first-up in stronger grade. She will push forward again and won't have to be much improved to take this out. ENFANT ROUGE (7) resumed at Oakbank in good order and is a second-up performer with more up the sleeve. She has good gate speed and fitter can make the finish. DOUBLERN (6) resumes and missed a whisker here two-back in a 64. She's sure to have come on and is a decent hope. WICKLOW LASS (8) was only beaten 1.7L at Warrnambool first-up when expected to need it. She comes back in grade and has more to offer. CRIMSON FACTOR (5) resumes for a top barn with Yendall up and she would have had choices. Needs to find more but that can't be ruled out.
SELECTIONS: Backing Zeminnika.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 4 @ 2:14 PM

ROWEINER'S DANCE (1) is sweeping all before him and won again last start by over seven lengths. The weight rise today won't be enough to stop him from winning again. TURN BIRD (3) went for a spell after a comfortable win at Cairns early in March. He has no problem with a wet track and can feature in the finish fresh up. BUSH DIAMOND (2) gave nothing else a chance when leading all the way at Mackay just over three weeks ago. He is very promising but will need every favour if he is to beat the top selection. RELIABLE WITNESS (6) came with a well timed run to get up by a nose when resuming. He is backing up quickly and does have a big weight advantage over his main rivals. Include in all multiples.
SELECTIONS: Roweiner's Dance to win.

CANBERRA: RACE 7 @ 3:33 PM

ALLGEMEINE (8) resumes for the sharp Matt Dale yard and is a lightly raced mare who performs on the fresh side. Was heavily backed all three runs last preparation placing twice at this track. She draws well and is likely further improved. DEVINE MISS (6) is a local who is right up to this at best and prepared to forgive the recent Wagga run when she got too far back. She just missed around here first-up and with the benefit of the 3kg claim can find her best. PUERTO RICO (7) was tracking well before a plainer effort at Albury when he led. He will use the low gate and is a chance on the 7-day return. MOOSHAKA (10) deserved the big CL2 win here. Stays down in the weights and can't be ruled out. BEAU ROCK (4) continues to race well and also deserves some consideration.
SELECTIONS: Allgemeine appeals most.

PORT AUGUSTA: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM

BADISS (3) finished runner up at Mornington prior to shifting stables and that form proved to be good enough for this fellow to lug 61 kilos and lead all the way to win by over seven lengths in his track debut. That was his first run in over six weeks and he will only be sharper for it. He has the draw to make it two wins on the bounce. LEONARDA (1) just loves racing here and recorded win number six here last time out nearly a month ago. She is still on the up and only has to manage the two-kilo weight rise to be hard to beat again. MUG'S GAME (4) has been racing well over the Alice Springs carnival most recently and that form usually transfers nicely to Port Augusta. She should be thereabouts again. SHORT STORIES (2) finished third in the City two starts back and then wasn't far away in a similar race last time out. That form is good enough for a race like this and he only has to cope with the Port Augusta surface to be a big winning chance today. Watch closely.
SELECTIONS: Badiss to win.
