Plenty of racing around Japan on Tuesday with meetings at Urawa, Morioka, Kanazawa, Sonoda and Nagoya. We've scoured the five cards and picked out our best bets across the day's racing.

Kanazawa Race 6 #1 Links Elpis

Siding with the topweight here who has won two in a row in fine style, by 4 lengths two starts ago and 5 lengths last start despite starting $10 in the market. He maintained the same high rating between the two starts and gives every indication that he'll run to that level again which should win this race. Given he went around at double figures last start I think we'll get a backable price with some handy types involved that are capable of challenging, mainly #9 Ultimax who looks one of the main dangers.

Morioka Dirt Race 5 #2 Meiner Flap

A tricky card on the dirt at Morioka but Meiner Flap stands out, boasting the best last start rating despite running second, beaten just 0.3 lengths in a near identical race. The numbers say he just needs to run to that level again but go back just four starts and he won two in a row on wet ground that rated even higher and would almost certainly win this race. He can be a bit hit and miss but I'm tipping his best form wins this and anything above $2 is a fair price in a fairly thin race.

Nagoya Race 12 #4 Meisho Coelogyne

Easily the race of the day in Japan today with every single runner in the twelve-horse field coming off a last start win, ten of those going around as an odds-on favourite! Meisho Coelogyne was one of those, starting $1.60 but only winning by 0.75 lengths at this track and distance whereas others in the field won by big spaces at their last outing. Despite that, this three-year-old filly is rated highest in the field and her ratings profile continues to spiral upwards. She takes on the older horses here but should continue to progress and looks the one to beat in a wide open race.

Urawa Race 2 #10 Irle First

Intriguing race at Urawa for two-year-olds with Irle First having had one start for one win back in June at Kochi, leading all the way over 800m to win well. She rated higher than anything in this field has done but there are a few queries. She was able to lead at a fairly slow tempo over the 800m there and now has to extend over 1400m where she may find more pressure for the front. She also started $14 on debut at Kochi so the market didn't love her, and the horse she beat has run six more times and struggled badly since so the form looks shaky. All that said, if you take the win and rating on face value she deserves to be the horse to beat here so I'll back that in.
