Australian thoroughbred Tab meeting is today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown-Hill Side, Eagle Farm, Balaklava, Belmont Park and Canberra.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 3 @ 2:55 PM
TEMPLE OF ARTEMIS (1) makes his Australian debut. Ran fourth in a St Leger Trial Stakes last August which is serious form to be taken into a midweek Benchmark 78 at Warwick Farm. MIRACLE SPIN (8) has placed in each of his two runs back from a spell, the latest in a Benchmark 78 at Eagle Farm. Should be peaking third up and both career wins to date have come on heavy tracks. Carries no weight on his back after the claim. YARRAWONGA (9) just missed first up at Canberra in his stable debut which came off a generous break. Will strip fitter for the run and can go one better. IOWA (2) next elect from a low barrier off a first up win at Hawkesbury.
SELECTIONS: Temple Of Artemis to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Warwick Farm Computer Card.
SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 8 @ 6:30 PM
SEONEE (14) knuckled down smartly to arrive in time and score by a head on the Lakeside last time. Gets in well at the weights with the 3kg claimer reuniting and is drawn better. Expect her to be very tough to stop. CONVENER (12) resumes and makes his Australian and stable debut for the smart Maher & Eustace partnership. Returns short of his preferred journey but looks to shoulder a bit of talent. Blinkers go on first time to help him focus. Could prove too classy. CONQUEROR (3) continues to savage the line and was unlucky not to salute last start at Pakenham when missing the bob. Will have to go back again from the draw. Watch for him late. Can also make a case for GRACIAS AMIGO (7) third-up but will need some luck from the outside alley.
SELECTIONS: Backing Seonee to win again.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 5 @ 3:19 PM
HAVLICEK (5) was prominent in the run and gave a big sight when second over 1640m at Doomben seven days ago. Drawn to enjoy a good run and will be nearing peak fitness third up so should prove tough to beat. POETIC DRAMA (8) won her maiden here two back then made considerable ground in the run home to finish third last start over 1350m at Doomben. Expect she is looking for this distance now. SECURITY ADVISOR (4) is close to breaking through after seconds in both runs since a spell, one of them here over 1400m. Race fit now and drawn to advantage. PRIVATE BANKER (2) scored a determined win at his final run of last preparation at Sunshine Coast and has switched to the Desleigh Forster stable over the break. Trialling well so keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Havlicek to peak and win third up.
BALAKLAVA: RACE 7 @ 4:00 PM
LIMITED RISK (1) had been taken along quietly before making a winning debut at Murray Bridge which was not unexpected as he started favourite that day. He has been given time to get over that run and won't find this much harder. He looks set to work his way through the grades and should win again. MANAGE THE CYCLE (2) slides back down in class here after finishing a sound fifth in the City last start. He is a handy performer who is drawn perfectly and should be right in the finish. LUCKY FORTUNA (7) won her debut on this track and then wasn't too bad in four subsequent runs, including a last start third. She resumes at an easier level today and can make her presence felt. WINNING REVOLUTION (3) has been racing recently in the City and should notice the drop in grade for this assignment. He is well-placed and should be included in all combinations.
SELECTIONS: Limited Risk to win.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 5 @ 4:00 PM
EL PATRON (1) resumed and was narrowly beaten at Ascot this grade. Brought strong form from the previous preparation and won here his only second-up outing. Fitter and can win keeping the small claim. CHOICE BID (2) led and was only beaten 2L in the same contest. He has more up the sleeve and is a danger controlling the race from the rails draw. SIMPLE LOGIC (5) surprised winning that race working home over the top. Has more weight but can't be ruled out. LUCKY LANDING (3) resumes and has placed 2/2 fresh. Has had two trial warmers and Chris Parnham stays with him. Good enough to consider.
SELECTIONS: Backing El Patron.
CANBERRA: RACE 6 @ 4:26 PM
OFFSPRING (5) is promising and missed a nose here first up before tackling the Listed Canberra Guineas beaten 3.5L. Out to the mile advantages and she has soft and heavy-track form. Penza stays with her and can secure the run of the race. In the top local barn and appeals. PINKY (9) is in a leading Sydney barn can prove the danger. The near-miss two-back at 66 level is the measure and the 1.5kg claim advantages. Managed a heavy track when close-up at Canterbury three-back. JIMMY MANOLO (7) is also Sydney-trained and has been racing well over longer trips. He is well prepared for a hard slog and he stays in so is likely to handle the heavy. REGION TIME (6) was out-graded in the Canberra Guineas but missed a nose here prior in a 65 and a wet surface won't bother.
SELECTIONS: With Offspring.
