Morphettville Parks Races Review on 1st October 2022

Although he has ridden a few placings of late Jason Benbow continued his good run when he rode Rockstar Meggsy to a win in the opening event of 1000 metres on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday.

Resuming from a spell and trained by Jon O'Connor Rockstar Meggsy  came from a midfield position and was seen running on over the concluding stages.

Gawler trainer Darren McLeod brought up his first winner when the seven-year-old East Indiaman  won the 1300 metre second race.

Entering the winner's stall for the first time in over 1000 days the apprentice Teagan Voorham guided East Indiaman led all the way.

Coming off a last start third on the main Morphettville track the Barend Vorster guided Pretty Reliable went two better when she won the 1300 metre third race.

Being under the care of Dean and Garry Alexander at Gawler, Pretty Reliable  settled in a good position before going on to win.

Barend Vorster brought up his second winner for the day when Sous Les Nuages took out the 2400 metre fourth race.

Coming out of the Ballarat stable of Matthew Cumani, Sous Les Nuages came from a midfield position to bring up win number three from twenty-one starts.

 Millicent trainer Dean Saxon was well pleased with the victory of Mr Marathon Man  in the 1250 metre fifth race.

Guided to victory by apprentice Ben Price Mr Marathon Man came from a midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Morphettville race caller saw plenty of cheers when the six-year-old Picargo won in a tight finish in the 1250 metre sixth race.

Coming out of the Ryan Balfour stable the Todd Pannell guided came from a well placed position.

Melbourne apprentice Alana Kelly made the trip to Adelaide worthwhile when she rode Yuri Royale to victory in the 1550 metre seventh race.

Coming out of the Richard and Chantelle Jolly stable Yuri Royale came from a midfield position to flash home and win.

The excitement continued when the judge could not separate Call Me Shamus and Perfect Route in the 1400 metre eighth race.

The Phillip Stokes trained and Jason Benbow ridden Call Me Shamus was first up after a spell and came from a rearward position while the Michael Hickmott prepared and birthday girl Jessica Eaton ridden Perfect Route was one off the pace.

Trainer Michael Hickmott brought up an outright winner when his charge Stadium of Light took out the 1400 metre ninth race.

Having the services of Todd Pannell and coming off a last start third Stadium of Light came from a midfield position with a strong run late in the event.

The consistent Sea Witness gave his rider Jason Benbow two and a half winners for the day when the gelding took out the 1000 metre final event.

Being under the care of Byron Cozamanis Sea Witness raced in a forward position before going on to claim the event.
