Warrnambool Race 3- Likely Suspect

This was one of five winners for Lindsey Smith on his home track and he looks one that can go through the grades nicely. He started $3.50 on debut but struggled on the heavy 10 going, relishing the firmer surface here. Coming from well back in the field after skirting wide around the turn, he ran out a soft winner and expect him to improve as the distances get longer. While the overall speed figure wasn't amazing, I think he's got more to show and if placed well, can win again next start.

Canterbury Race 2- Eau De Vie

This filly has now had three starts and hasn't yet broken her maiden but I'd be surprised if she wasn't winning next time out. This race has rated quite well, running just 0.13 seconds slower than the benchmark 72 over the same distance later in the card, which was after a track upgrade. She was the eye-catcher, coming from last to grab third after drawing 7/7. Canterbury was always going to be tough for her and if she can find a similar maiden over a mile at Randwick-Kensington or Warwick Farm, she should be very hard to beat.
