Morphettville races Review on 13th March 2023

Riding at the top of his form Joe Bowdich brought up his fourth winner in two days when he piloted Aitch D’Amico to a win at the opening event of 1600 metres at Morphettville on Monday.


Prepared by Byron Cozamanis Aitch D'Amico was seen in a midfield position before moving forward in the straight to score a last stride win.

Validated made it two wins in a row when he took out the 1200 metre second race.

Being under the care of husband and wife team of Peter and Belinda Blanch and having the services of Dom Tourneur Validated came from a rearward position to score in a tight finish.

The father and daughter training combination of Richard and Chantele Jolly added another winner to their impressive record when Extra Mile took out the 1200 metre third race.

Guided to victory by apprentice Sheriden Tomlinson Extra Mile came from a rearward position with a sharp run over the concluding stages.

 Joe Bowditch brought up his second win for the day when Show Royale took out the listed Cinderella Stakes which was run over 1050 metres.

Coming out of the Cranbourne stable of Lloyd Kennewell Show Royale travelled two off the pace before going on to win.

Trainer Robert Hickmott was well pleased with the win of Beltoro in the listed C S Hayes Memorial Cup.

Steered to victory by Melbourne Teo Nugent Beltoro came from a better than midfield position to claim the 1600 metre event.

Another Reward justified her place in black type company when she won the listed Matrice Stakes which was run over 1200 metres.

Having the services of Jason Holder the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained Another Reward maintained a midfield position throughout the event and is now likely to be aimed at the 1200 metre Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes in April.

Duel Mornington based trainer Amy and Ash Yargi had one of their biggest thrills in racing when their charge Rebel Racer took out the Adelaide Cup which was run over 3200 metres.

Having the services of Craig Newitt the six year old gelding gave the big crowd a thrill when he led all the way.

The first lady of Australian racing Gay Waterhouse and her training partner Andrew Bott lent spice to Adelaide Cup day when their charge Stonecoat won the 1600 metre listed Morphettville Guineas.

Having the services of Jordan Childs Stonecoat was untroubled in winning as he led all the way.

Strathalbyn father and daughter co- trainers Shane and Cassie Oxlade finished the day on a high when their charge Queman took out the 1050 metre final event.

Guided to victory by Justin Potter the four-year-old gelding was another winner to lead all the way.
