Randwick-Kensington Race 1- Kimochi

To the eye, it may have appeared that the winner of the male equivalent of this two-year-old race, Libertad, may have been the better winner. But a quick look at the data disproves that as Kimochi ran over a full second faster overall time, the race going roughly a length faster for every 200m split. Even with this much faster tempo, the girls came home just 0.05 seconds slower for their final 600m and Kimochi has run to 98 with Timeform at her second start. Another winner for young sire Brave Smash, she's got stakes level ability and can find some blacktype this preparation.

Sandown-Hillside Race 7- Gringotts

A progressive three-year-old for Maher & Eustace, Gringotts has now won two on the bounce and has form around some handy ones. Second to recent Vobis Gold Reef winner Bel Air three back, he stepped straight out of maiden grade to a Bm70 and won well again here. The second horse, Helix, is no slouch having run second in the Future Stars Final at Pakenham the start prior and the third horse Red Sun Sensation ran second to Mr Maestro in the Listed Super Impose Stakes (1800m) last time in. How far Gringotts can get this preparation I'm not sure, but he's on the up and expect he makes a nice horse in time.
