PORT ADELAIDE v MELBOURNE

Friday 19 May @ Adelaide Oval

One of a number of cracking potential finals match-ups kicks off Round 10 this weekend as the Demons head back to Adelaide to face the Power.

Both sit inside the Top 4 and both are on nice winning streaks even if not always playing their scintillating best.

Port Adelaide's season was almost on the brink when Sydney had a kick after the siren to win over a month back. That seems a very long time ago.

Importantly Port has some finals type sides as victims in that run of wins so there is some credibility to it. Now they have a bigger fish on the fry.

They were not at their best as it was against North when down in Hobart. The first third of the match was tight but once it opened up, so too did the floodgates.

They are getting their midfield to contribute in a wide variety of ways and by a wide variety of them too. Because of that it allows someone like Jason Horne-Francis to not have to be a huge output creator but more an impactor.

That midfield will need to be at their best facing what Melbourne will bring. It too is highly diverse in skill and quantity.

Demons fans watched as they went through the motions against the Hawks. Most knew the result before it began but in some ways it was more about injury prevention after the 4 points were secured.

Well that didn't go to plan as Christian Petracca's ankle scare at the end would have had hearts aflutter. It came on top of Harrison Petty's early problems.

They will always have Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw plus Gawn and Grundy essentially acting as ruck rovers. You'd never want Petracca not available but it can be overcome.

These two have had runs of results. Melbourne the last 3, Port the prior 3, Melbourne the 2 before and a run of 7 for Port previous to that.

Thinking if Petracca does play, Melbourne win but the Power come right into it if he doesn't, just by playing at home. It should still be close though.

Match Selection: Melbourne by 8 points

Suggested Bets: Either Team by 15 or Less @ $2.60
