High-flying Collingwood have dropped experienced forward Will Hoskin-Elliott for their clash with battling North Melbourne.

Hoskin-Elliott, who has played 191 AFL games, moves into the Magpies' emergencies for Sunday's meeting with the Kangaroos at Marvel Stadium.

The 29-year-old could still be considered for the sub role, with Collingwood opting not to bring anyone into their starting 22 as Steele Sidebottom plays his 300th game and American tall Mason Cox lines up for his 100th.

In a boost for the Kangaroos, who have lost their last eight games, powerful forward Cameron Zurhaar returns, although Liam Shiels (injured) is out.

Key Port Adelaide veteran Travis Boak has been ruled out of the Power's clash with Richmond at the MCG.

Boak was cleared of serious injury following a heavy collision with Melbourne hard-nut Jack Viney during Port's thrilling win at the Adelaide Oval last Friday night.

Despite being named in Port's squad on Thursday, Boak has reported ongoing soreness to his ribs and will not face the Tigers on Sunday.

The former Power captain has been replaced by ruckman Brynn Teakle in the extended squad.

Port are already depleted, with captain Tom Jonas (suspension) missing, as well as key forward duo Charlie Dixon and Todd Marshall.

Richmond lose triple premiership defender Nick Vlastuin (corked leg), with enigmatic forward Noah Cumberland brought in to the Tigers' emergencies.

The Brisbane Lions welcome back experienced defenders Daniel Rich and Darcy Gardiner for Sunday evening's clash with the Crows at the Adelaide Oval.

Tall defender Jack Payne (concussion) is a big loss, but Gardiner is a handy replacement for his first AFL game of the season after struggling with a series of injury issues.

Gardiner has played 154 games for the Lions, but Payne's emergence kept the 27-year-old in the VFL for a number of weeks even once he had returned to full fitness.

The Crows will be boosted by the return of star veteran Taylor Walker after a rest, along with important defender Tom Doedee.
