Western Australia are primed to build a domestic cricket dynasty after living up to their mantra of embracing pressure moments.

Adam Voges's side needed just three-and-a-half days to claim back-to-back Sheffield Shield crowns with a nine-wicket defeat of Victoria at the WACA Ground.

The victory leaves WA in the unprecedented position of having successfully defended Shield, one-day cup and Big Bash League titles in a single season.

WA had been in peril at 4-53 in reply to Victoria's first-innings 195 when Ashton Turner came to the crease and struck what proved to be a match-winning century, sharing a 105-run partnership with tailender Joel Paris (31).

"A theme this week was 'walk towards the pressure'," Paris said.

"Victoria have always been a team that fight to the very end. We knew that (partnership) was going to be really important.

"We cashed in at the back end and got us to a lead which obviously made it really tough for them to get ahead of the game from there."

WA's enviable squad depth was highlighted by the fact Turner hadn't played a red-ball game since being dropped in October 2020.

He only returned to WA's XI for the final game of the season before the decider, despite having established himself as a white-ball star.

Paris said WA had long been building to a period of success under the leadership of Voges and predecessor Justin Langer before last year's breakthrough to win the Shield for the first time in 23 years.

"It probably started when JL came on board and showed the core group of good players now what it truly means to be professional athletes and professional cricketers," he said.

"I think we're in the position now across the whole high-performance (area) where we're leading the way with how we're playing our cricket, the people that have come through the group."

Paris, who played two one-day internationals in 2016, hopes to put his name in the mix for Test selection after taking 27 Shield wickets this season.

He will travel to New Zealand next month as part of an Australia A squad for tour matches which will form part of preparations for the Ashes.
