Man critical after groups clash in regional shooting

A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after being shot as two groups clashed in a regional Victorian town, leading to five arrests.

Five arrests have been made and another man is fighting for life following a shooting in regional Victoria.

The 28-year-old suffered a gunshot wound on Monday night when two groups of men clashed at a Hawker Street property in Moe, about 135km southeast of Melbourne.

He was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Five men were arrested and are being questioned by police.

It is believed the groups know each other and a crime scene has been set up as armed crime squad detectives investigate.
