Wright to leave NRLW post at Broncos

Two-time NRLW premiership winner Kelvin Wright won't be back for a fifth season at Brisbane.

Two-time NRLW premiership-winning coach Kelvin Wright will leave Brisbane after four seasons at Red Hill.

The Broncos' mentor informed the club this week of his desire to be closer to family and grow his business by returning to New Zealand.

Wright coached four seasons at the club, winning titles in 2019 and 2020 and collecting a minor premiership in a third only to miss the decider.

Brisbane then missed the semi-finals for the first time in the recently completed season.

"It's been a great journey over the past few years and I'd like to thank everyone at the club who has played a role in our team's success," he said.

Broncos chief executive Dave Donaghy paid tribute to Wright's efforts in his time at the club.

"Kelvin has done a really good job during his four seasons with us and he has unearthed and developed some fantastic players," he said.

"He has a great passion for rugby league, especially the women's game, and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours."
