Melbourne to host Super Round again

Melbourne will again host Super Rugby Pacific's Super Round, featuring all teams playing at AAMI Park from March 3-5.

Melbourne will again host rugby's Super Round with all Super Rugby Pacific teams playing at AAMI Park in round two next season.

The 12 teams will converge on the Melbourne Rebels' home ground over the weekend of March 3-5.

The games will be played as double-headers each day with 2022 champions the Crusaders kicking off the weekend against the Highlanders.

The Rebels will take on the Hurricanes in the late Friday match.

Moana Pasifika, whose Super Round game this year was postponed after a COVID-10 outbreak in the Western Force camp, will meet the Chiefs on Saturday afternoon, followed by the Fijian Drua against the Waratahs.

The Blues and Brumbies clash on Sunday at 2pm with the Force and Queensland Reds rounding out the weekend.

The inaugural Super Round was held in Melbourne this year but had to be pushed back from round two to round 10 due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Organisers are hoping the round-two date next year, which is before the start of the 2023 AFL and NRL seasons, will attract more fans from interstate and New Zealand.
