THEY SAID IT: "It was something you don't ever want to witness on a football field, it was hard to see. I'm devastated for him ... it might take us a little while to get over." - Adelaide boss Carl Veart after losing Spanish star Juande to a horrific broken leg in their 3-3 draw with Melbourne City.

MAN OF THE WEEK: Newcastle have been struggling this season but the performance of Reno Piscopo will give Arthur Papas' side hope they can do something this campaign. Piscopo was a menace in their 4-0 thumping of the Roar and laid on two assists.

TALKING POINT: Is a win in the Big Blue enough to reinvigorate Sydney FC's season? A come-from-behind 2-1 win away to Melbourne Victory lifted the pressure on Sky Blues boss Steve Corica, who will be hoping his side can shake off their early season woes and return to the top six.

STAT ATTACK: After being hammered 4-0 by Newcastle, Brisbane haven't scored in three straight games. Their return of just 10 goals after 14 games is the worst in the club's history.

BEAT THAT: Jake Brimmer's long-range free-kick caught Sydney FC goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne unawares and was delivered with pinpoint precision. The Victory man shaped to cross before spotting Redmayne off his line and curling the ball into the top corner from 30 yards. Sadly for Victory it wasn't enough to get them off bottom spot.

UNDER PRESSURE: Can the loan signing of Morgan Schneiderlin be the catalyst to lift the Western Sydney Wanderers from their post-World Cup slump. Marko Rudan's side have won just once since the competition resumed, but the signing of the French international could be a game-changer if they are to end their lengthy finals drought.

UP NEXT: Victory will aim to end their winless run when they host Wellington on Friday. Melbourne City welcome Macarthur to the Victorian capital the following day, with the Central Coast travelling to Sydney, Brisbane heading to Adelaide and Newcastle making the long journey to Perth. Western Sydney face Western United on Sunday.
