Jordan Bos is in the midst of the biggest year of his young career but isn't looking past his tilt at grand final glory.

The 20-year-old will play his final game for Melbourne City in Saturday night's A-League Men decider against Central Coast at CommBank Stadium in Sydney before departing for Belgian Pro League club KVC Westerlo.

"I'm very excited," Bos told reporters.

"Last game, biggest game of the season as well.

"I've grown really close to pretty much all the boys so it'll be honestly sad to say goodbye but hopefully it'll be on a high."

Bos was named ALM young player of the year at Thursday's Dolan Warren Awards after a breakout season at left-back that earned him a maiden Socceroos call-up and his record transfer.

That has included dislodging retiring skipper Scott Jamieson from his starting role.

"Jamo's been great to me," Bos said.

"It's not more so what he's done but just what I've felt from him - having his confidence and him having my back.

"Obviously having the captain sidelined is not easy but he's been great about it and I couldn't have asked for a better mentor."

Bos broke through under former coach Patrick Kisnorbo but has continued to accelerate his rapid development under Rado Vidosic.

"They all go about their coaching in different ways," he said.

"PK was a lot harder and strict and step, step, step but I think that allowed me to get a hard head.

"Then with Rado, he's allowed me to express myself a bit more and flap my wings a little bit.

"Each of them helped me out in their own ways and it's gotten me to where I am now."

Bos is confident he can handle the hype and impending pressure of his move overseas.

"I try not to think about it too much. I just try to do my thing and not look too much into the media and what everyone's saying," he said.

"Obviously these awards, my move come with some weight.

"But I'm sure for sure I'll get through it and keep doing what I'm doing."
