THEY SAID IT: "We took it on the chin when we lost (the first derby of the season) at our home ground, he's probably being a little bit of a sore loser" - Sydney FC boss Steve Corica takes a dim view of Western Sydney rival Marko Rudan after a heated sideline bust-up.

MAN OF THE WEEK: After a storm led to their flight being cancelled on Thursday, Central Coast team manager Darren Dobson had to work treble overtime to ensure they got up to Brisbane to face the Roar. A 5am flight on Friday got the Mariners to Queensland and they left that evening with a 2-1 win.

TALKING POINT: How does Warren Moon turn things around at the Brisbane Roar? Their solid defence has deserted them over the past month and their finals hopes are sinking without a trace.

STAT ATTACK: As John Aloisi was at pains to point out after Western United's heartbreaking defeat to Adelaide United, the Victorian side is yet to win in 12 games refereed by Shaun Evans. Asked if he was suggesting something untoward going on with Evans, Aloisi replied: "No. I'm just giving you the stat."

BEAT THAT: Melbourne City striker Mathew Leckie broke Perth Glory's hearts with a spectacular bicycle kick goal in the 76th minute. With scores locked at 2-2, Leckie pounced on a poor clearing punch by Glory goalkeeper Cameron Cook to unleash the spectacular manoeuvre. City went on to win the match 4-2

UNDER PRESSURE: Could things get much worse for Tony Popovic's Melbourne Victory? They've won just once since the derby violence after losing 2-1 to Newcastle on Sunday. They are bottom - seven points off the finals spots - and face City this Saturday.

UP NEXT: Western United head to Tasmania to face Wellington on Friday. Macarthur host Newcastle on Saturday and Sydney welcome Newcastle to Allianz Stadium. Later on Saturday, City face Victory for the first time since that derby and Mariners travel to Perth. The Wanderers are on the road to Adelaide on Sunday.
