Alja Tomljanovic has suffered a first round disappointment in the Tallinn Open losing 6-1 7-6 (7-3) to Barbora Krejcikova in 99 minutes.

The Australian No.1 started very slowly, committing six double-faults in the opening set, being broken three times and failing to force one break point.

But she was much better in the second set and put herself into position to take the match into a deciding set by breaking her Czech opponent.

However, serving for the stanza at 6-5 she was herself broken and the world No. 27, seven places above the Aussie, took the tie-break.

Elsewhere in the Estonian capital on Monday fourth seed Madison Keys was beaten by Viktorija Golubic 6-3 6-2 but second seed Belinda Bencic eased past Elena Malygina 6-0 6-2.
