Gus Wigley and the Inglewood Stud team missed out on the Chairman's Sale, but they still sold Parmalove for a hefty sum via Inglis after the 11-year-old mare topped the May (Early) Online Sale.

The daughter of Snitzel sold for $730,000 with Walnut Farm the buyer.

The 11-year-old, who is in-foal to Satono Aladdin, incurred minor injuries while at a New Zealand airport awaiting her flight to Australia for the Chairman's Sale, which forced her withdrawal from that prestigious offering.

"I'd literally checked into my flight, we were all ready to go when the air freight company called and said she'd suffered some minor cuts and abrasions so we decided to stay home and reconsider our options, purely as a precaution'' Wigley said.

"I spoke to (Inglis' Senior Bloodstock Consultant) Brett Gilding and he suggested using the Inglis Digital platform to sell her so we backed his judgment and the result tonight is fantastic.

"Full credit to Brett and the entire Inglis team to come up with the idea and then to help us implement things and to achieve this great result tonight.

"It's the perfect way to top off what's definitely been a week of mixed emotions.''

Interest in Parmalove was high due to her proven ability in the breeding barn with the mare the dam of New Zealand's star two-year-old of the season, Group 1 winner Velocious.

She was clearly the highest-priced lot of the sale with Fastnet Rock mare Global Dream, in-foal to Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside, next best at $140,000.

Listed-winning Magnus mare How's The Serenity sold for $120,000, Snitzel filly Klum sold for $110,000, while $100,000 bought Shalaa mare Salmah, who is in-foal to Toronado.

Godolphin moved on 12 racehorse, who realised a total of $511,500, with Fastnet Rock three-year-old Diabelli – a last-start Kembla Grange winner – the most popular at $90,000.
