ST KILDA v HAWTHORN

Saturday 27 May @ Marvel Stadium

A confidence booster for one team and getting back on track for the other sets up a decent match at the Docklands on Saturday afternoon.

It was very much a danger game for the Saints heading to Sydney with GWS not having much on the line on a poor surface and with much of their main men back.

And not long into the last quarter things got even more dicey with the Giants taking the lead and looking on a roll.

But to the Away side's credit, they settled, got composed, found two goals to re-establish a little buffer and held it all the way to the line with little scoring in the last bit of the match. Such a Ross Lyonism.

Certainly having Max King back helped a great deal. His 4 goals made a huge difference and no doubt took pressure off his mates.

But so to the run off half back with Sinclair, Wood and Hill around the midfield strength of Steele and Crouch. That will be their MO.

Defence has been their saviour and they will need to be on good behaviour with Hawthorn getting a nice clean out via a massive 116 point record breaking win over the Eagles.

West Coast offered nothing – that is undeniable. Two points after half time is an abomination. But you still have to do the job and a team who themselves has had those non-scoring issues will feel better about it.

They too enjoyed getting back their focal point in Mitch Lewis and his 6 will only serve to make those further down the field know where to aim. They just need Koschitzke to be a bigger foil and it is game on.

St Kilda has won the last 5 over the Hawks and some by good margins. Hard to see that won't occur again back onto a better field even given what Hawthorn did.

Max King will be brim full of conviction. Watch him go to town again.

Match Selection: St Kilda by 38 points

Suggested Bets: Max King 5+ goals @ $3.30
