The favourite Keeper Keen is now unbeaten in two starts, following his debut win in a Two-Year-Old Plate (1100m) at this track on 12 November with a narrow but good win, stepping up in class here. He settled nicely outside the leader (Rubia Miss), got to the front at the 100m and then dug deep to score well in a photo. Riasc raced in fourth place, one out and one back, challenged strongly at the 100m and then battled gamely for a close second in a very promising debut effort. Rubia Miss went to the front, set quite a good tempo and fought on well in the straight to hold third also going nicely on debut.
