All three placegetters here look to have potential for better things over longer distances. Ballet Suite, a three-year-old filly from the Mark Kavanagh stable did well to win here, stepping up to 1600m at her third start. She raced wide in the early stages before easing to race in fourth place. She moved up on turning for home, got to the lead at 200m and went to the post to win with something in hand by half a length. Kodinhi was eighth, one off the rails, made a wide run from the 600m to challenge at the 200m and then continued for fight on for a good second. Verreaux was well back in the early stages before tracking up three wide with cover from the 600m. He then kept running on gamely over the closing stages for a promising third.
