All Cerise raced away for her first win, resuming after three previous starts. Hugh Bowman eased her from barrier (8) and she settled in second last place in the nine-horse field. She improved wide with cover at the 600m, fanned very deep at the home turn and then raced away from the 200m to win impressively by almost three lengths. The Darley-raced filly Copper has now raced three times for as many seconds. She was third on the rails to turn, put in a run at the 200m and battled on quite well, having no chance with the winner. *ANZ
