RACE 7 @ 4:00PM: $500,000 Group 3 bet365 Geelong Cup (2400m)

First Immortal (13) endured a tough run in the G3 Bart Cummings last start and his effort to get within a length off the winner was excellent. Drawn very wide again here is the query but if he has some luck early he'll be very hard to beat. ASHRUN (2) has come back from a very long spell in excellent order, hitting the line strongly in the Bart Cummings last start. Should only improve again fitness-wise and certainly has the class. MORE FELONS (6) is very interesting. He's a former hurdler who has had three recent flat runs, all over 2816m in the UK. Beaten a head in a G3 two starts back and internationals have been potent in this race. Keep safe. SPANISH MISSION (1) looks to be coming along nicely and his Turnbull run was very good. VIRTUOUS CIRCLE (7) had no luck in the Bart Cummings but looks short enough in early betting.

bet365 customers will qualify for a Bonus Bet on the bet365 Geelong Cup if they have placed a qualifying bet either pre-race or In-Play on any of races 1, 2 or 3 taking place at Geelong earlier in the day on Wednesday (eligible customers only/bonus bet stake limits apply)

RACE 5 @ 2:45PM: $200,000 Roderick Insurance Brokers 3YO Geelong Classic (2200M)

Dulcet (3) looks capable of taking this step in what is a very thin listed race. He relished the rise to 1740m at Sale, was given an arrogant ride back in the field and rounded them up easily to win by 2 lengths. Should have no issue with the 2200m and can stake a Derby claim. KOSGEI (4) was coming along nicely until last start when towelled up by Riff Rocket at Flemington. No surprise to see him bounce back in this and the trip should be fine. SERVED COLD (7) started a well backed odds-on favourite in the Oaks trial at Flemington and was disappointing, albeit not beaten far. The win prior at this track was good and she can bounce back. WAVERLEY (1) was okay two back at Flemington in the Derby trial and could place while SACRED EAGLE (2) has some upside.

BEST BET OF bet365 GEELONG CUP DAY

RACE 9; #6 Von Hauke @ 3.80 with bet365 (odds correct as of 3:45pm, 24/10/2023)

Von Hauke (6) looks a nice way to end the card. He beat the talented Helix two back at Sandown-Hillside and then ran on well off a sit and sprint in a listed race at Flemington behind Tamerlane, beaten 3.3 lengths. Drops in class for this and 1500m suits.
