RANDWICK August 6
Couse Proper/A Grass; Good 4
14 Heats – Course Proper 1 x 1000m (Group/Listed); 2 x 900m (Group/Listed); A Grass 8 x 1050m (3 Open; 5 Maiden); 3 x 743m (1 Open; 2 Maiden)
There session featured three interesting black type heats on the course proper as more spring horses gear up for their coming campaigns.
HEAT 1 (1000m): EMBRACER was much sharper than in his recent first-up trial, leading comfortably from start to finish in good time (58.42; 34.69). He's not a top Group horse but can run well fresh under the right conditions.
Really liked the strong second by SPLINTEX in his first hitout since he raced in Brisbane in May and June. He could go to a new level this prep. BRANDENBURG (3rd) also moved nicely in his second trial since he ran in the Doomben Cup.
The promising 3YO filly FOUR MOVES AHEAD settled last and sliced between runners late under a ride for an eye catching fourth. G1 winner DREAMFORCE (5th) was OK but I still want to see him hit the line with more intent.
All the way for the @GaiWaterhouse1/ Adrian Bott sprinter Embracer in the opening G&L trial at @royalrandwick on Friday, he downs Splintex with Brandenburg in third. Also in the heat were Four Moves Ahead, Dreamforce and Shout The Bar. @tabcomau @7horseracing pic.twitter.com/xGmEkfvsTB

HEAT 2 (900m): Mares filled the first four placings with the classy FITUESE having too much speed over the short course (52.41; 34.45). She's now a fully matured 5YO and her two recent trial wins have her set to fly when she resumes.
LILLEMOR and EVERY ROSE turned in solid efforts to fill the placings with VANGELIC taking the eye with her strong fourth.
The blackbook trial came from the G1 JJ Atkins winner CONVERGE. He went around under a big hold for a soft sixth in a quiet start to what could be a big spring. You could do worse than have a speculator on him to win the Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas.
A second trial win this prep for @JTRacingRwik mare Fituese at @royalrandwick on Friday, she held off Lillemor with Every Rose arriving for third. Behind the placings were Vangelic, Tiger Of Malay, Converge and Elizabeel. @tabcomau @7horseracing pic.twitter.com/t4gsmTgO9P

HEAT 3 (900m): A sharp win by MAMARAGAN (52.60; 34.70) in his second trial after finishing second to Fituese in his first-up trial at Randwick on July 27. He's now a gelded 4YO and looks to be back to the form he displayed in his early starts.
NAJMATY made ground late under a strong ride while the eye catchers from PRIME STAR (4th) and FORBIDDEN LOVE (5th). Both were having their second trials and there was no intent to put them under pressure over the last 200m.
HARMONY ROSE was out the back and merely went around for exercise in her first trial since the autumn.
Mamaragan (@nashhot) leads all the way to win a trial at @royalrandwick on Friday from the fast finishing Najmaty with Discharged in third. Also in the heat are Prime Star, Forbidden Love, Lion's Roar and Harmony Rose. @tabcomau @JTRacingRwik @7horseracing pic.twitter.com/LmQtDDKaPX

A GRASS HEATS
The fastest 1050m heat on the A Grass was won by SMART IMAGE (62.98; 34.31). He was given a strong hitout to take off from last at the 400m and reach the lead inside the 200m before peaking on his run.
The best trial behind him came from the promising stayer FAVREAU working nicely into third under a quiet ride. His best is ahead of him.
LE LUDE (63.96; 34.01) and SWIFT WITNESS (63.59; 34.34) won the other open heats over 150m, both doing enough to get honourable mentions. The big grey BERDIBEK was the one that took the eye having an easy trial in LE LUDE's heat.
Talented filly Swift Witness has a "good burnout" under @clarkyhk in an all the way trial win at @royalrandwick on Friday over Bullet Rider and La Grisa in third. @tabcomau @GaiWaterhouse1 pic.twitter.com/tMdOzuFDEg

The Waterhouse/Bott team won two fast maiden heats with OMNI MAN (63.41; 34.86) and INVINCIBLE VISION (63.12; 34.23), both being unraced sons of I Am Invincible.
The 3YO OMNI MAN has shown plenty in his three trials and will be placed to win first-up in a suitable maiden.
INVINCIBLE VISION is a 5YO gelding who won his first two trials in the spring of 2018 and didn't have his third trial until last September when second at Wyong.
His natural talent was again evident as he worked strongly to the line for a narrow win, giving hope that he will soon get to the races. The stable obviously regards him highly to persevere with him for three years!
De An Andretti, a full sister to Libertini, wins her trial at @royalrandwick on Friday for @RonQuinton & @AndrewAdkins103 in a close finish over Park Avenue and Marboosha. @tabcomau pic.twitter.com/khg9ewlsUA

Lightly raced DE AN ANDRETTI won the open heat over 743m (43.73; 33.21) with the classy Group winners MARBOOSHA and KALASHNIKOV closing strongly over the last 200m under quiet rides.
