RANDWICK February 22

15 Heats – Soft 7

KENSINGTON: 1 x 1250m (Group/Listed); 1 x 850m (Group/Listed)

RANDWICK A GRASS: 1 x 1200m (Open); 7 x 1050m (2 2YO; 4 Open; 1 Maiden); 5 x 737m (3 2YO; 2 Open)

Young sprint star OZZMOSIS took the spotlight with a sharp first-up trial win.

OZZMOSIS (Bjorn Baker): Set to add to his reputation after nice work to win his Group trial over 850m on the Kensington track with ease. Dylan Gibbons allowed the Zoustar colt to do as much as he needed to hold an advantage over his rivals over the last 200m (49.91; 33.56). It was a strong heat with G1 winners RUTHLESS DAME and SHINZO putting in nice work under no pressure in trials that will top them off for their race returns.

MANUSCRIPT (Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott): Impressive work by this unraced Written By youngster in his first trial since October. Tracked six horses wide under a hold and had plenty in reserve going to the line easily to win the fastest2YO heat over 737m (43.19; 33.25).

TERRITORY EXPRESS (Paul Niceforo): Backed up a good Warwick Farm trial on January 30 with impressive work to win his 1050m open trial with by more than four lengths with a sharp sprint over the last 200m (63.45; 34.81). Suited in his right class up to 1600m.

Brad Widdup won two trials with SHORT SHORTS and PHEARSON and would be happy with the form of both horses heading towards the return to racing. SHORT SHORTS has now won two trials while Group 3 winner PHEARSON put in impressive work to win the fastest 1050m heat (62.87; 34.12).

Talented filly MUMBAI MUSE got her program back on track after her first-up failure with an impressive second in the fast 737m heat won by MAYROSE (43.17; 33.09). The run on work of VINDICATION over the last 200m to finish fourth took the eye in the same heat.

Other 2YOs to make an impression in their trials included the Snowden-trained heat winners MEDIA WORLD (1050m – 63.72; 34.94) and INOUE (737m – 43.53; 33.66) and strong work by the Randwick winner PARKOUR to finish a soft fifth behind Media World under a big hold.
