Hall Pacer Returning In Fine Form

Champion trainer Gary Hall Snr has declared talented pacer Youre So Fine is as good as he’s ever been, ahead of his return in tonight’s Westral Shadetrack Outdoor Blinds Pace (2130m) at Gloucester Park.

The key moment of Youre So Fine's last campaign was his win in the Pinjarra 4YO Classic (2185m) in November, before he was unplaced in three subsequent feature races at Gloucester Park.

He takes on six rivals in tonight's Free-For-All, including four of his stablemates, and Hall Snr said he was confident he was ready to make his presence felt in open company.

"He's going well," Hall Snr told The Trots WA.

"He's never gone better than he is right now.

"I thought he could possibly win if the race went to plan.

"He will definitely be a Pacing Cup horse."

Youre So Fine has drawn barrier four for his return tonight, with key rivals Jumpingjackmac and Diego drawn outside him in barrier six and seven respectively.

Jumpingjackmac scored a well-deserved win a fortnight ago, where he sat behind Steel The Show and stormed over the top of him in the closing stages.

That followed his runner-up performance in last month's Retravision-Fremantle Cup (2936m).

Hall Snr said Youre So Fine had the potential to match the deeds of Jumpingjackmac, but conceded the former would be tough to beat tonight.

"I think Youre So Fine can be better than Jumpingjackmac long term," he said.

"Although I'm always worried with a horse like him that has had leg injuries.

"Jumpingjackmac will go forward tonight and have a go at leading because he's really in the zone."

Jumpingjackmac is the $1.65 favourite with TAB touch for tonight's event, ahead of Youre So Fine ($5) and Diego ($6).

Stuart McDonald retains the drive on Jumpingjackmac, with Gary Hall Jnr to drive Youre So Fine.

Meanwhile, Miss Hepburn and Water Lou are now joint $2.35 TAB touch favourites for tonight's $50,000 Diamond Classic (2130m).

Trainer Aiden De Campo told TABradio earlier in the week he would be looking to lead the Group 3 event from the coveted barrier one.
