Dannika provides the perfect gift on Eddy's special day

Pinjarra trots kicked off their meeting on Monday with the square gaiters, and it was Bonnie Rae who took top spot in the opener for Karen Bennett and Lauren Harper. The westbred four-year-old was purchased by Bennett just three starts ago, and at start four for the camp she broke through for her maiden win.

Starting off the front-line handicap over the 2116m standing start trip, Bonnie Rae stepped safely and after settling behind the leader throughout, Harper peeled off Im Gavoche's back with around 400m to go, trotting home the better to win by a whopping 18.3m margin.

Two-year-old Grevis made his return after a short let up, with the Aiden De Campo reined and trained youngster bringing up his first win at just start three. Starting as the short-priced $1.85 favourite, Grevis was able to lead all the way, claiming a comfortable win with a 4.6m margin in 2:01:5 over the 2185m journey.

It was a day for firsts, with the three-year-old Westbred maiden going the way of the John Graham trained Dee Jays Big Boy for driver Chris Lewis. After starting from barrier two over the 1684m sprint trip, the three-year-old began well from release point, and after obtaining the one-one position, Lewis pulled out three wide with just under 400m to go, storming home to win by 1.7m in 1:58:6.

Russell Eddy celebrated more than just his 63rd birthday on Monday, with Dannika breaking through for her maiden win at Pinjarra in the fourth on the card.

After a string of top five finishes, the four-year-old daughter of Shadow Play USA broke through with Mitchell Miller on board with a winning margin of 1.4m in 2:01:6 over the 2185m trip.

Three-year-old Hunt The Magic recorded her first win this season at start seven this time in. After heading to the paddock last September as a two-year-old, she made her return to trials in April this year, and on Monday she claimed a narrow victory on the line with just a head in the margin for Ian Gossage and Lindsay Harper.

The Wally Barrett OAM Memorial, race six on the card went the way of Beyond The Sea for trainer Murray Lindau and driver Kyle Harper. The four-year-old was bred and owned by Karnup Racing and on Monday she continued her great form, bringing up win four from her last five starts, with Monday's win on return after a five-month let up.

Aiden De Campo drove a double on the card, with the lightly raced Son Of Starsky bringing up his second win in just seven career starts. Trained by Stephen De Campo, the double westbred son of former WA stallion Follow The Stars started as the $1.34 favourite, and after settling back in the field, De Campo went wide with 600m to go, to win by a short-half-head on the line in 2:01:4 over the 2185m.

The last on the card went the way of the Team Bond trained Cotton On NZ for reinswoman Deni Roberts. The three-year-old who is yet to be beaten in WA continued his winning ways, making it seven from seven in the state.
