The Thierry Duvaldestin -trained six-year-old Galipette Pierji has come to life in the saddle making it four wins from six starts among mounted company with a smooth success at Vincennes last week. That victory delivered a four-timer for the daughter of Tucson who appears to be progressing rapidly.
Held up towards the rear of the field by jockey Mlle Matilde Herleiksplass for most of the contest the pair were always travelling well. This improving six-year-old looked the best turning for home, and with a smart turn of foot quickly put daylight between herself and her rivals.
Already proven on both tracks at Vincennes and over distances varying from 2000m-2850m, she is versatile. Twice a mounted winner at Class B level it was no surprise to see her take this contest (Class C) and a step up in grade is surely on the cards. It remains to be seen where her limitations are in the mounted division, but it would hardly be surprising were she to become a graded performer over the next few years
