Jaggera Bomb took a big step forward when off the mark on second career attempt going away in the final race on Monday night at Le Croisé-Laroche.
Winning driver Laurent Verva had Jaggera Bomb in a good rhythm and settled the filly midfield avoiding some disqualified runners who were veering to the outside of the track in the early stages. Passing the enclosures, the daughter of Boléro Love was beginning to make her move when switching to the outside, two off the pegs and began overtaking five runners on the inside to share the lead at halfway.
Midway along the fair side both Jaggera Bomb and Jiskaya de Carsi were head-to-head leading and continued to race at a fair tempo throughout. On the final turn the leading pair drew away. The Christian Douillet trained filly looked to have the upper hand entering the home straight travelling strongly. Passing the 400m, she reached the front and extended away despite a further challenge from the staying on runner-up, Jiskaya de Carsi.
By Boléro Love the filly showed a professional attitude in the closing stages drawing away unchallenged to be an impressive winner.
Boléro Love was a top-class performer between 2015-17 with victories including the 2016 G1 Prix de Selection (2200m) and in the same year, the G1 Prix de l'Etoile (2200m).
Following a DQ on debut at this track Jaggera Bomb bounced back and looks progressive.
